This is how we use macro level change for huge progress.
The Michigan Department of Health & Human Services is investing in students today to become our communities’ behavioral health care professionals of tomorrow. I’m thrilled that we have received over 1,000 applications for the behavioral health care internship stipend program already. We’re making key investments to strengthen the provider pipeline and address the growing demand for behavioral health care professionals: 🔵 Students training to join the behavioral health workforce participating in select internship opportunities can receive a stipend of up to $15,000. 🔵 We’re also encouraging more students to seek a master’s degree in social work by offering a stipend of $30,000 with their commitment to working in behavioral health care in the state upon graduation. These programs, alongside other strategic investments to enhance the continuum of care, ensure Michigan families have access to behavioral health care services where and when they need them. TL;DR: Gen Zers are feeling disconnected from school, lacking motivation and purpose, leading educators to shift strategies towards more engaging activities like internships and electives. 📚✨ As Gen Z students like Ella Mayor express feeling disconnected from traditional schooling, a recent Gallup and Walton Family Foundation report sheds light on the widespread sentiment. Mayor's experience working as a pharmacy technician part-time outside school exemplifies the disconnect many youths feel within the classroom. The report highlights the crucial importance of students finding purpose and engagement in their academic pursuits. This has prompted educators to rethink their approaches, emphasizing internships and diverse elective options to cater to students' interests and aspirations. 🎓 Key takeaway: Understanding and fostering a sense of purpose among Gen Z students is crucial for educators and marketers alike in crafting engaging experiences both in and out of the classroom. 🚀 #GenZ #YouthEngagement #EducationRevolution 🎉

This article provides amazing proof of the power of internships and other forms of "experiential learning" to enrich the overall high school experience. It shows that learning outside the classroom is uniquely important for helping students understand and envision career opportunities. "Hands-on" learning also supports traditional academics by showing the practical value of what is taught in the classroom. https://lnkd.in/e7qzZUjK

"The Autism Society’s Employment Initiative seeks to focus on an Autistic individual’s strengths, goals, and personal employment journey. We must normalize that employment can mean part-time, full-time, volunteer, internships, and more -- while acknowledging that employers are not leveraging, nor supporting, a large population of potential employees. #GiftsOfAcceptance

According to Metro State University and the article Internship Requirements - Early Childhood Studies, a few qualifications needed for my internship in the elementary education field are as follows. -include opportunities to complete observations, plan activities, and facilitate young children’s learning; -be supervised by a qualified onsite supervisor. -be conducted in a community-based program, school, or agency serving young children. These are just a couple of qualifications that they say are required and I have all of these qualifications. #CTE #HowardRDriggs #GraniteDistrictInterns
