Yesterday, EIT InnoEnergy attended another EU Clean Transition Dialogue alongside 4 portfolio companies GravitHy, Verkor, ecop Technologies GmbH and Skeleton Technologies. Chaired by European Commission President von der Leyen and EVP Maroš Šefčovič, the dialogue focused on how to continue strengthening competitiveness of European industry in Clean Tech sectors. 🎯 CEO of InnoEnergy, Diego Pavia outlined the clear and compelling investment case created through Europe’s robust green regulatory framework (European Climate Law, 2030 targets and FF55). To continue strengthening Europe's clean tech toolbox, we highlighted two key focus areas: 🌲 Put sustainability criteria at the core of the European market to ensure long-term competitive edge of climate tech industries and European products 💹 Further enhance our financial framework from seed to scale. Leverage public funding where it counts (early-stage), and innovate public financing instruments for later stage where heavy lifting for funding can only be achieved with private finance. "Sustainable development is the pathway to the future we want for all" - Ban Ki-moon Arne Gerdes and I took part in Siemens' #TechForSustainability Campaign and (unfortunately only) placed second in the "Connecting Global Energy Markets" challenge. Nevertheless, a complete success! We came up with an idea on how the global energy markets can be networked and connected in order to combat climate change and promote sustainability. The campaign ended last Thursday in Munich, after we learnt a lot about electricity markets and got to know some strong competitors. There were some really innovative ideas and we congratulate the first place winner for their success. Even though we didn't win, we are looking at how the topic and our idea can be driven forward, because energy is a topic of the future.
