⁉ In the last two days, 5 exabytes of data have been generated, which is more than what was produced from the beginning of humanity until 2003❗ ❌ We are producing huge amounts of synthetic data, but what is the quality of that data? How can we better extract the knowledge from it? In this paper, we are not solving the entire grand problem, but we are proposing a strategy to optimize synthetic data set generation to allow for better #ML models for prediction of #tunnelling-induced #building #damage. Are there any mathematicians and/or data scientists out there that can answer some mostly-related questions?: - Are there any guidelines for normalizing data outside of the Euclidean metric? - Is the discrete metric useful for categorical data (possibly as an alternative to the sigmoid function)? - Are there other topological insights that can help with polynomial fitting? It seems like not only can points be overfitted, but they can be interpolated to an infinite number of overfits.
