A journey in my graduation project: Landscape Heritage Park A Landscape Heritage park is a place where people modify the land to represent part of their heritage in this case the plants of Bahrain. It is made to protect the land's vegetative heritage and to educate people about the plants that could be grown in the region. the main goal of the project is to highlight the beauty of the land's vegetative heritage. The project’s idea is from Bahrain – to showcase what Bahrain really is – the location, and things found. Landscapes provide ecosystem services, support biodiversity, represent cultural significance, offer aesthetic value, and generate economic value. Landscape heritage parks show tales about the landscape, such as plants, Nature, and landforms, and act as symbols of the landscape's national and regional identity. Plants are omnipresent and multifunctional, offering an excess of benefits ranging from food to handicrafts.

how we plant our gardens and urban spaces has a big contribution to biodiversity we need to change the taste away from lawns and overly managed artificial landscape design to natural, location appropriate, low maintenance systems.. oh and they are way more beautiful than classical gardens... https://lnkd.in/dr9XgK6M

@mo.eco_art 🌳#nicecotedazur #frenchriviera #urban #greening The @villedenice has been implementing a urban #forestry architectural project since 2008 being classified as the “Green City of the Mediterranean” to improve the standard of living of #citizens and of the city #ecosystem 🍏 Following up the recent launch of the Nice Ville Verte Fund the Town Hall set itself the goal to accelerate the greening through targeted investments encouraged by carbon credits and tax reductions in order to support sustainable #business and CSR #corporatesocialresponsibility initiatives with common targets: 1. better living conditions in town 2. concrete contribution to the ecological transition 3. improving the appearance of urban spaces 🌿Thus, they designed the “3-30-300” rule to put the strategy into force by setting key #criteria and #indicators to monitor the performance with the aim to: ✅allow each resident to see at least three trees from home ✅ to guarantee 30% of tree canopy in the neighbourhood ✅ to live close (300 metres away) to green spaces 🔰The strategy is bearing fruit: 92% of citizens #niçois can admire greeneries from home windows, 83% live nearby green areas and 45% live in districts equipped with 30% of vegetation 🏡 The Métropole Nice Côte Azur is therefore determined to further improve the project which will provide healthier conditions, #climatemitigation, urban #resilience while fighting against air pollution, as reaffirmed by a pool of experts involved in the city planning 📸Copyright: MonacoEcoArt.com Source: Metropole de Nice Invest in Côte d'Azur - Team Nice Côte d'Azur

The Renaissance was a period in European history from the 14th to the 17th Century. It began as a cultural movement in Italy and spread throughout the European continent. The scientific progress during the Renaissance period, the curiosity to understand the natural world and derivation of inspiration from nature led to the recreation of various natural processes. These untamed natural processes were catalyzed and celebrated in the Italian gardens with the objective of creating a sense of the natural setting through detailing at micro-level and macro-level. This article elaborates on the micro-level detailing that celebrates nature's untamed character and are repeatedly observed in Italian Gardens. These micro-level details are important learnings both in terms of direct adoption and the indirect process followed for recreating a natural setting. To read the complete article click on the link 👇

Conservation Guidelines are #whatwedo! Planning a renovation to a heritage building and don’t know where to start? 🏛️ Conservation guidelines are an effective way to plan for compatible and strategic change. Our role in developing guidelines starts by evaluating the existing heritage fabric and noting areas of high, medium and low heritage value both on the interior and exterior of the building. With this assessment, key heritage elements are identified, including materials and spatial relationships that contribute to the building’s overall value. ♻️ As part of the guidelines, we provide suggestions for future changes to either restore previously obscured heritage or elements to be prioritized for conservation. Other focus areas of the guidelines may include opportunities for expansion, additions or sympathetic changes necessary to meet current needs. Weighing contemporary requirements with intrinsic heritage values and existing spatial arrangements can help guide future interventions by considering their anticipated impacts. Contact Us at hello@tracearch.ca to get started on your heritage building!

A Coastal Symphony of Life: My Thesis Journey 🌊🌱 Coastal landscapes are not just picturesque—they are alive, teeming with biodiversity, stories, and endless opportunities for learning and exploration. My thesis project, the Coastal Botanic Garden, embodies a vision where nature, education, tourism, and biodiversity harmoniously coexist. This concept is rooted in the idea of connecting people to nature, fostering a deeper appreciation for coastal ecosystems, and empowering communities to protect and celebrate these unique environments. From offering spaces for ecological education to promoting eco-tourism, this garden is a call to action—a reminder of the beauty and fragility of our world. 📌 What inspired me? The interplay between the wild energy of the coast and its delicate ecosystems has always captivated me. I wanted to create a design that celebrates this duality and invites people to experience its magic firsthand. 💭 How can we design spaces that simultaneously protect nature and educate people about its value? I’m excited to share more about this journey in the coming days! Let me know your thoughts—what would you envision in a space like this? “The visual was designed using Photoshop to effectively convey the concept and vision of the project.” #LandscapeArchitecture #ConceptDesign #PhotoshopDesign #BotanicGarden #Biodiversity #SustainableDesign #EnvironmentalEducation #TourismDesign #UrbanEcology #CreativeVisuals #DesignInspiration

World Green Roof Day and the History of Hanging Gardens in Babylon Today we celebrate World Green Roof Day, which is observed every year on June 6th. This event important not only to appreciate the beauty of green roofs, but also to raise awareness of their benefits for the environment combating climate change. Green roofs, also known as living roofs, represent an innovative approach to utilizing architecture to promote sustainable and ecological principles. The history of green roofs dates back to ancient times, when the Hanging Gardens in Babylon were one of the first recorded examples. This extraordinary garden was planted in Iraq around 500 BC and provided residents with not only a beautiful environment, but also shade and cooling. Ancient texts mention that these gardens were cultivated over stone pillars and roofs, and consisted of trees and fauna found in the Babylonian mountains. Thanks to World Green Roof Day, experts like Chris Bridgman and Dusty Gedge are working to increase awareness of the importance of these roofs and promote sustainable green technologies. Green roofs have a positive impact on the environment by reducing building cooling costs, retaining rainwater, and supporting biodiversity. The dazzling history of the Babylonian Hanging Gardens serves as inspiration for modern initiatives in sustainable architecture and environmental care. World Green Roof Day reminds us of the ancient wisdom and innovations of our ancestors and encourages us to actively engage in the protection and restoration of our planet.
