Here is a round up of the negotiation and disputes week for some of ELS from last week!   Negotiation sessions have included: 💬 International negotiation for a central government department   💼 Consultancy and training work with a company about to go into dialogue with a central government department   ✏ Discussion and design of a course on Negotiation in the Commercial Flexible Procedure soon to appear on the Government Commercial College available through KPMG or directly from us.    ⚖ Two more deep dive sessions have been delivered for the Cabinet Office, supporting the Civil Service in the change effort required for the new Procurement Act. Whilst we continue to discuss with the Governments Supply Chain, how they might work with the #newProcurementAct, and what it might give them.    🖥 The Digital design team continue to be busy supporting across the business but with clients of their own including supporting GOLD.    ✔ Our CIPS - The CIPS - The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply course continues to allow delegates to pass their module exams (this time module 7) with scores ranging from 82% - 93%. This course is so much easier if you work as a team with a CIPS centre.   #negotation #commercialflexibleprocedure #procurementact #deepdive #elearning #digitallearning

Public sector procurement: Missed targets and opportunities for SMEs A recent report by the British Chambers of Commerce and Tussell has highlighted the ongoing challenges the public sector faces in meeting its procurement targets for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Despite the UK government’s commitment to increasing the procurement of goods and services from SMEs, the numbers reveal a persistent shortfall. In 2023, only 20% of the total direct procurement spending in the public sector went to SMEs, amounting to £39.7 billion out of £194.8 billion. While the public sector has fallen short of its procurement targets for SMEs, the forthcoming changes under the Procurement Act could present you with some promising opportunities.
