📣 I absolutely recommend you to watch the NVIDIA GTC conference held on March 18th. Although the video is lengthy, spanning two hours, it not only helps you understand the latest advancements in NVIDIA's AI models and GPU capabilities but also provides insights into the solutions NVIDIA has unveiled in fields such as warehouse automation(At 1:35:00 within the video.)! 📖 My main takeaway focuses on NVIDIA's announcement of providing Omniverse™ Cloud in API form #OmniverseCloud, expanding the coverage of this globally leading industrial digital twin application and workflow creation platform to the entire software ecosystem. What particularly caught my attention was the platform's capability in establishing workflow simulation. Firstly, it can utilize NVIDIA's AI models as a foundation, accessing Omniverse Cloud APIs to visualize complex data and scenarios. Secondly, it is also developing the capability for interaction with the product or workflow through natural language input. It is reported that Siemens' Xcelerator has already connected with NVIDIA Omniverse Cloud API, leveraging generative AI technology to achieve real-time visualization based on the physical world. 🔖 Providing cloud services and utilizing AI models as the foundation to empower software developers with unprecedented development capabilities is indeed an exciting direction of development. What I consider one of the most relevant announcements from NVIDIA GTC: https://lnkd.in/ghTMidMs A smart blend between digital twins and real-life streams: (1) example of a virtual warehouse model that's so dense in activity that it can be qualified as an "airtraffic" controller (2) modelling of forklifts and virtual human interactions using real physics (3) overlay of synthetic image-generated scenarios with real sensor/camera feeds By combining AI, smart sensor fusion and physics models, the real world can be amplified and better anticipated. NVIDIA HQ is a ghost town this week, as lots of the company went to #Computex2024 in Taipei. NVIDIA is always present there, but this past Sunday Jensen Huang gave a keynote about how AI is kicking off another industrial revolution. As someone that consumes a lot of AI content weekly, trust me - you want to hear what Jensen has to say about NIMs. Here's an analogy to understand NIMs and how they will revolutionize the way we build apps. Here's how Jensen explains NIMs in the keynote: Working with NIMs is similar to assembling a high-performing team to work on a project. Each team member is a specialist and brings their own expertise to the table. Like GPUs, the NIMs operate in parallel, collaborating to achieve a common goal -- like a human product team building a new application for example. In the same way, NIMs are pre-trained AI components that can be combined to create complex applications. Imagine you have a project that requires different specialists -- like an engineer, a designer, and a data scientist. Traditionally, you would need to code instructions for each of them. However, with NIMs, you can think of them as these pre-trained specialists. You provide a high-level task, and assign one NIM as the project lead (they're like the Product Manager in tech). The lead NIM delegates the work to the most appropriate NIMs based on their areas of expertise. Then, they all work together in parallel, just like a human team, to deliver the desired outcome. It's so much like NVIDIA GPUs...and it's revolutionary for industries globally. The whole keynote is great, but if you're tight on time, just cut to the part about NIMs (starts around 51:22). Wowza. 🤓
