🍦National Ice Cream Day was yesterday!🍦 It was the 40th anniversary- I think that’s a big deal! Thank you, Ronald Reagan for creating it! So, as I spent some time reflecting on “fave-flaves” and putting up a fun post (go check it out) yesterday to celebrate, the rolodex in my head started flipping. 🍦Then MR. YUMMI came to mind! “MR. YUMMI?” Indeed! Twice the sugar means twice the fun! HENCE, today’s post. I can’t think of a better way to pay homage to such an EPIC holiday! 🤘 What? You want a story/vision-cast? --------Ok! 👉 Mr. Yummi was a fictitious ice cream company from Brooklyn during the tail end of the 40’s into the early 50’s. Founded by former NYC sanitation worker/ice cream hobbyist “Sticky Hands Stanely!” It was right after WW2 and started up on a rubberband budget. “Sticky,” for short, managed to amass 4 trucks at their peak but due to freezer burned ice cream and sanitation standards (keeping it polite) he was out of business by ’52. The End. -- 🍦Creating this design was a blast; working with colors of yesteryear and the idea that if this company were real, this is the shirt they would have worn. 80% is often better than perfect? This is what struck me in Home Bargains when I spotted this gondola end with some of the ambient branded essentials needed for #ChristmasDinner. It's 80% of the way there because.. 🦃 The products are core components of a traditional Christmas dinner with the 'big brands' from Premier Foods 💫 The addition of the tray, large silver foil & gravy boat is helpful ❌ However, it lacks the further 20% because there is no supporting comms for this mission as it's a brand sponsored piece with Premier Foods. However, at this time of year it is confusing This approach will capitalise on stopping customers in their tracks seeing multiple products in one place to fit the Christmas dinner mission - yes, it may still be early, but its an important time for sales in ambient.
