Thanksgiving is near. It's a time to reflect and to give thanks. At Benskin & Hott Talent Partners, my gratitude extends beyond colleagues to those who trust me with their career paths and talent searches. Trust. It's at the heart of my work. Careers hang in the balance. Aspirations lie in my hands. Gratitude? It's more than a feeling. It's an action. It's about being trusted. Connecting people with jobs? It's not just a match. It’s a legacy. One hire. One moment. It can spark greatness. For individuals. For companies. I've learned to balance client and candidate needs. Gratitude? It’s no greeting card sentiment. It's foundational. It empowers us all. In every field. May your Thanksgiving overflow with warmth, laughter, and gratitude shared with loved ones, colleagues, and friends.

As we inch closer to the end of the year, I’ve been feeling reflective—and since today is Thanksgiving (I appreciate it's not a UK holiday but let’s be honest, I’m always up for a reason to celebrate and of course say thanks), I thought I’d share a little gratitude of my own. Working as a consultant might sound like a lonely gig to some—but for me, it’s the exact opposite. Every single day, I get to work with incredible recruitment leaders and teams who trust me to dive into their businesses, help them untangle challenges, and unlock opportunities they didn’t even know were there. I love what I do because it’s all about transformation. Whether it’s creating efficiencies, enhancing candidate experiences, or mapping out the future with new tech or services like RPOs and MSPs, I thrive on those lightbulb moments when something clicks for my clients. And then there’s you—my connections, colleagues, and clients. You inspire me with your insights, your questions, and your willingness to innovate, not to mention your on going support, your generous recommendations and your friendship. It’s a privilege to learn from and collaborate with you. So today, I’m raising a toast (no pumpkin pie in hand, sadly!) to all the brilliant people I’ve met through my work, past and present and here on LinkedIn. Thank you for making my journey so fulfilling. Tell me: What’s one thing about your work, your industry, or your connections that you’re especially thankful for this year? Let’s spread a little gratitude. 🌟Happy Thanksgiving!!

This time of year reminds me of the importance of connection—not just matching candidates to roles, but building relationships that truly elevate careers. I’m thankful for: 1. The Candidates: Each interaction teaches me something new and inspires me every day. 2. The Clients: Collaborating with amazing companies that share a vision for growth and success. 3. The Recruiter Community: Supporting one another through challenges, sharing tips, and celebrating wins. Let’s remember the joy of giving thanks, not just for the big things, but also for the daily wins and connections we make. Happy Friday! Reflecting on our careers, we all wish we knew certain keys earlier on. For me, it's the power of empathy in all interactions, regardless of position. Connecting with others on a human level, whether they are your supervisor, a co-worker, or the president, can truly make a difference. Remember, empathy and connection are essential in every aspect of our careers. #HappyFriday #CareerReflections

The post below offers a great summary of how to engage in potential conversations for job seekers while continuing to pursue opportunities during this upcoming US holiday season. I particularly appreciate the writer's advice on managing these discussions effectively. It's important to establish boundaries by gracefully steering the conversation elsewhere and recognizing your small victories, as they hold significance too.

Thanksgiving is almost here, and if you’re job searching, I know this time of year can feel… complicated. The questions around the dinner table - “How’s the job search going?” or “Have you tried applying to [insert advice you didn’t ask for]?” - can sometimes sting, even when they come from a good place. So if you’re heading into Thanksgiving with some nerves about those conversations, here’s a reminder: your progress doesn’t have to fit anyone else’s timeline. 🙌 When the questions pop up, here are a few ways to navigate the conversation without feeling overwhelmed: - Set boundaries. It’s okay to redirect. A simple “I’m working on it, thanks for asking! What’s new with you?” keeps it polite but clear. - Celebrate the small wins. Even if you haven’t landed the job yet, share what you have done - like reworking your resume, building connections, landed an interview, etc. Progress counts‼️ - Ask for support. If you’re comfortable, let them know how they can help, whether that’s keeping an ear out for roles or connecting you with someone they know. - Focus on gratitude. Shift the energy to what you’re thankful for this year, no matter how small. It’s a great way to reset the conversation and keep things positive. This season can be tough, and that’s okay. But remember: this is just a chapter, not the whole story. You’re showing up and doing the work, and that’s something to be proud of. 💗 And because we’re all about gratitude this time of year - what’s one thing you’re thankful for?

'The Farewell Speech' Whenever you join a new company, you have people who either come or go. The separation matrix is, people join and a few colleagues move on. Recently I witnessed one of the most endearing speeches I've ever seen in a while. This individual was not only loved and respected. But the office where we were saying goodbye to him seemed like an out of body experience. It was amazing to see how genuine people, were because this person was leaving. I didn't really know the guy, but he seemed to be cared for and loved by everyone. 1. Start with gratitude:- As an individual, when you are a kind person it reflects on your words and actions. His abundance of it seemed to fill the room and then some. 2. Reflect on your past experience & Acknowledgement of people:- His experiences with people seemed memorable and heartfelt, he described every person in grave detail and told them what they need to do, to work on themselves. Whether they took his words in the right light was another story all together. 3. Share what's next and end things on a personal note:- I don't really remember, if he mentioned where he is going next but, by default people keep that detail to themselves. Eventually you come to know by word of mouth or our old and faithful friend 'LinkedIn.' In conclusion, the usual statements are made we will keep in touch, my number will remain the same, you can call me anytime & ill pick up if not busy in office. But as our lives progress, the things we do also move ahead. It's only during an impromptu get together that we catch up and think of the past and how we miss "The good old days, to begin with." by Shane Komal. #farewellspeech #gratitude #movingon #goodbyes #worklife #newbeginnings #reflection #colleagues #memories #thegoodolddays

✨ I’m so grateful for the weekend that just passed ✨ I spent the last couple of days recharging and reflecting as I gear up for the busy Thanksgiving week ahead. 🍂 Job searching can be a lot, but I’ve learned how important it is to set boundaries—especially when I’m in the middle of interviews and navigating a career shift. Lately, I’ve been reminding myself: ✅ It’s okay to take breaks and step back when I need to. ✅ I need to be upfront about what’s important to me—whether it’s pay, flexibility, or work-life balance. ✅ Interviews are a two-way street. It’s not just about whether I’m the right fit; it’s also about whether the role fits me. With Thanksgiving around the corner, I’m focusing on gratitude and giving myself space to enjoy the little things. If you’re also in the middle of a job search, don’t forget to prioritize yourself. Let’s all head into the week ahead with energy and intention! 🦃💛 #Gratitude #ThanksgivingWeek #JobSearchJourney #BoundariesAreKey

It is a good idea to take stock of our professional objectives as well as the things that sustain us through life's and our careers' ups and downs as we approach Thanksgiving holiday week. It might be particularly difficult to network, find a job, or manage a career change at this time of year. It is simple to feel overburdened or even demoralized. However, there are always reasons to be grateful, even at difficult times. These three strike a deep chord with me: 1. Supportive Relationships: Professional relationships serve as a reminder that we are not traveling this path alone, whether it be through a mentor giving guidance, a colleague referring us, or a friend just listening. Shout out to my friend Josh Phillips! This week, spend some time expressing gratitude to someone in your network. 2. Family & Loved Ones: Their encouragement, understanding, and love provide the foundation that allows us to dream big and keep pushing forward. Cherish the moments with them this season. 3. Opportunities to Grow: Every challenge we face, whether it’s perfecting our resume or preparing for an interview, is a chance to learn, improve, and move closer to where we’re meant to be. Growth is a gift. This Thanksgiving let’s focus on what we do have, while continuing to pursue what’s next. Wishing everyone a week filled with gratitude, reflection, and meaningful connection. What are you thankful for this season? Let’s spread a little inspiration! #Thanksgiving #Gratitude #JobSearch #CareerGrowth #Networking
