On Day 12 of Mental Health Month, I'm posting very little. No deep insights or thoughtful ideas about mental health. Just a day away from social media to disconnect (this is my only interaction since yesterday). Maybe it is an "idea"....to just disconnect from all of the buzz sometimes and enjoy life like we used to prior to all of the platforms. Friendly reminder that Mental Health Awareness Month is 53 days away. Companies, that means that you have 53 days to plan something that: 1. Involves real, policy-level changes to support the mental health of your stakeholders, 2. Integrates the feedback and wisdom of mental health clinicians, and 3. Goes beyond social media posts. If you're not interested in planning something like this, don't bother observing the occasion. Seriously- it would be better to leave off your content calendar. Opening up about mental health, made simple: Asking your friend, are you ok? It's easy to ask someone if they're okay and get a quick "I'm fine" in response. But how often do we dig deeper? Today we're asking colleagues "Are you REALLY okay?" This simple question can open the door to a more honest conversation. It aligns with one of values - Create together and lean in find innovative solutions - especially if that means supporting a co-workers mental health.
