Today is Global Exhibitions Day! 🎉 Why do exhibitions and business events matter? ✅ Exhibitions drive progress: trade shows and other business events provide platforms to discuss, create and showcase solutions to universal challenges. ✅ Exhibitions facilitate economic growth: trade shows and other business events are engines of economic growth, connecting industries and driving job creation. The business events industry employs 2.6 million Americans and drives $399 BILLION in direct spending annually (source: Center for Exhibition Industry Research, Events Industry Council, and Exhibition & Conferences Alliance) ✅ Exhibitions are a sustainable way to do business: industries gather in one place over the course of several days, allowing us to manage the environmental impact. ✅ Exhibitions connect people: trade shows and other business events are community builders, bringing people together face-to-face to connect, collaborate and contribute. I love being part of the events and exhibitions industry and am always pumped to see what new innovations are around the corner to drive us forward. #GED2024 #TradeShows #EventsMeanBusiness #NPE

I saw 5:00 twice yesterday! An early train saw me heading to the 🌐CN Global Event Tech Summit 2024🌐. Apparently, Event planning was listed as the third most stressful job in 2023 by World Scholarship Vault! (That explains the greys!). It was nice to be in a room with people whose boat I share and got some great insights and made some new connections! Here are my key takeaways: 1️⃣ Procurement & Event Planning Harmony In the session led by Andy FennHiggins from Chorus and Jacqui Kavanagh from EDGE Venues, we explored the often-complex relationship between procurement teams and event planners. While procurement emphasises cost-effectiveness, compliance, and efficiency, planners focus on personalization and creative flexibility. The discussion highlighted the importance of striking a balance through technology that enables robust data, compliance, and creativity. ✅ Nail the brief ✅ Have a clear understanding of the outcome of the event ✅ Delegate experience should be the priority 2️⃣ Measuring ROI Across the Event Lifecycle Cara Cory of Touch Associates and Rob Curtis from Event Footprints presented a fascinating case study, demonstrating how technology can track ROI from start to finish. We saw an outdated necessity get a facelift into an opportunity for innovation with Klik’s interactive smart badges. The name badge lanyard just got sexy! (I want them for the Real Entrepreneurs East Midlands events) Check them out - https://lnkd.in/eXmfrf9g 3️⃣ Achieving 90% Event App Adoption Abi Cannons from Grip has made me want to get an app! (sorry Jenny Cross). She shared actionable strategies for driving app adoption among participants. Through segmentation and targeted engagement, Abi showed how event planners can boost engagement with event tech, going far beyond the industry average. 4️⃣AI Tools for Event Planning Matthew Davies from Cvent showcased how AI tools are transforming the event planning process. This is a hot topic and I am keen to get to grips with the AI tools available. As a small company and an events team of 1, I feel AI could be my new apprentice! 5️⃣ Events in the Age of Disruption Dex Hunter-Torricke delivered a powerful keynote on the disruptive trends reshaping our world. From immersive content to critical agendas, Dex challenged us to think about how our events can adapt to connect with audiences in a rapidly evolving world. Thanks for having me and look forward to future events! #EventTech #EventPlanning #AI #FutureOfEvents #EventInnovation #CNGETS24 Jessica Watt Tommaso Cartanese Lucy Eden William Groves Kristyna O'Connell Luke Elliott Annabel Letham

Today is Global Exhibitions Day, #GED2024 and I want to take a moment to recognize the incredible power of exhibitions as a catalyst for creating real human-to-human connections. Exhibitions bring together people from diverse backgrounds, industries, and regions, creating a unique environment where ideas are exchanged, relationships are forged, and innovations are sparked. In an age where digital communication and technology is dominating our lives, exhibitions remind us of the irreplaceable value of face-to-face interactions. They offer a platform for meaningful conversations, hands-on experiences, and genuine connections that go beyond our video and mobile screens. Whether it's a handshake that seals a deal, a chance meeting that leads to a partnership, or a presentation that inspires new thinking, exhibitions are where the magic happens between human beings and long may that continue. Let's take a moment to appreciate the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in making these events possible—from organisers, suppliers and exhibitors to the venues, attendees and sponsors. Your efforts create opportunities for learning, networking, and growth that benefit individuals and industries alike. Most importantly, it keeps me in a job that I love and cherish. Here’s to the power of exhibitions and the human connections they allow us foster. Happy #GlobalExhibitionsDay! 🎉 #exhibitions #tradeshows #eventprofs UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, IFES - Sharing Knowledge, ESSA

The world is divided into two parts: 1) companies that deal with products and companies that provide services. 2) While trade shows have been created for selling products, there has been nothing equivalent for service-oriented companies except for conferences. 3) Consider this: 1000 companies can place their products on the shelves of 1000 booths. However, only 30-50 speakers can present their services at conferences to an audience of 1000 participants. 4) This means that companies with products have solved the problem of showcasing what they produce to buyers, but service-oriented companies have not solved the problem of displaying their services. 5) This is why we have created a new format, The Leads Arena, which incorporates our event tech technologies for matchmaking and networking, along with a new format that doesn’t exist with major players like Messe, Informa, Clarion, and RX Global. 6) We are open to potential partnerships and are particularly interested in finding an investor who wants to enter the congress and exhibition market.

4 things I experienced from my first expo event visit. 👀 👉 First come first serve: Attendees are generally more alert and engaged when arriving, making them more likely to spend time with the first exhibits they see. So, the first few exhibitors from the entrance have more chances of interacting with customers and eventually generating revenue. 👉 Gen Z Minds: The young generation is revolutionizing expo events with their impressive blend of knowledge, confidence, and creativity; they are tech and social media savvy. Some high school teenagers team up with their business parents, excitedly sharing new ideas and showing that the next generation is not just waiting for the future — they are actively building it. 👉 Hidden benefits: Attending an expo might seem like it's not beneficial for non-business professionals however it can help in multiple ways. Expos open your mind to new ideas and ways of thinking, making you more adaptable, innovative, and sharp. Listening to the stories of perseverance and success shared by entrepreneurs serves as a powerful lesson. The connections made, even if they seem unrelated to your current interests or career, can support your journey in unforeseen ways. 👉 Collaboration beats competition: The Expos have several stalls with companies of the same industries competing with each other. But only a few use their competitors as collaborators and win big. This approach not only brings people together but also sparks innovation and success by using everyone's unique strengths for a common goal. 😁 Bonus: The huge expo had only 1 cafeteria at the very end near the exit gate. Hence, the exhibitors providing free chocolates ended up having more attendees at their stalls lol. How was your first Expo experience?😀 #expo2024 #exhibition2024 #eventexperience #networkingopportunities #careeradvancement #innovativeideas #expoexperience #innovativeindia
