10 years ago, I was just a bedroom producer, sampling old vinyls and pushing the boundaries of my creativity. One night, I stumbled upon a phrase by American rapper REDMAN that stuck with me: "Turn me up some." What started as an organic experiment suddenly took an unexpected turn. Before I knew it, our track was being played on shows like "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and MTV. Then, something even bigger happened—DJ Snake sampled it for his song "Frequency 75", and that song ended up in the "Fast & Furious 9" movie trailer. This experience taught me a crucial lesson: Artists often overthink the process: “Is it good enough?” “Is it the right time?” But in reality, if you believe in your music, don’t wait. Just release it. You never know who's listening, and it could change everything. In this video, I share that simple yet powerful message: Don’t hesitate—trust your work and let the world hear it. #tipsforartists #redman #djsnake #fastandfurious

An interesting topic in the entertainment world for Oscar weekend: Are movie soundtracks back? This seems to be a question specific to Hollywood, because in Bollywood, *soundtracks* make the movie. The article below from the AP shares how record sales for the music of Barbie is topping albums, eg number 2 on the Hot 200 Billboard charts. Similarly, "A Star is Born" from 2018 was performed at the Oscars, "Shallow" won Best Original Song. Then the article goes back to 2016 for La La Land and 2006 for Dreamgirls. But there isn't a cadence of top movie soundtracks in the U.S. One more mainstream example with an Indian theme is "Slumdog Millionaire", composed by the infamous A.R. Rahman. This soundtrack won Golden Globes, BAFTA, Academy Awards, Grammy. But if you follow Bollywood, you'll see numerous soundtracks tied to movies where the songs are the key to success at the box office. Thought this might be interesting for weekend reading. https://lnkd.in/erYFZv_5 #bollywood #oscars #music

Have you heard about the Dave Grohl vs. Taylor Swift drama? Dave's stance is basically, Real bands play 100% live and Taylor's Eras Tour has some music backing tracks, but this is more common than most people think. Falling In Reverse had to cancel a tour a few years ago because they were heavily relying on computers and laptops to run backing tracks and control lights to save on a cost of hiring stagehands. Touring is expensive! Heavily relying on technology that has the potential to cancel a leg of a tour isn't good either. I don't think Dave Grohl had malice in heart in saying "Taylor uses backing tracks and Foo Fighters don't." Both Dave Grohl and Taylor Swift we're both in London putting on shows this week, so who knows, maybe they'll meet up and have some drinks. Technology is great, and musicians are living in the golden age of gear (quote from Rhett Shull), but dependency on technology is not a good strategy. Do you think there is a compromise or not? #DaveGrohl #TaylorSwift #FallingInReverse #Musician #Guitar

Emotion resonates with everyone. Whether its Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger or Disgust (Inside Out anyone?!), it will have an affect when you use it in your branding. I wrote this story from a personal perspective. My Dad loved his rock music and he passed that onto me and I still listen to those bands he loved. I then took that feeling and adapted it to a story that would fit the Bowers Group brand by showing how quality tools can last generations. Putting this film together was a LOT of work but I am incredibly happy with the end result and I want to make more. Do you want to connect with your audience more? Leading a team is a lot like conducting a symphony. Every musician has its place, acting in harmony with one another. When I first started Dreemz, I felt like a violinist on the sidewalk — making music by myself, hoping someone would hear me. But that’s the beautiful thing about ideas, like the one that bore Dreemz. They excite people. Like music, they worm their way into peoples’ brains — and soon, they start singing the same tune. When you hire your first employees, it can be a scary thing. At first, I didn’t know how to conduct these other “musicians”. I was so used to playing by myself — all the long hours I put in, all the phone calls I placed, all of the rejections I endured — that I was scared to open up the process to others. What if they weren’t in concert with me? It turns out, our team has been able to add music to the composition of this company that I couldn’t even hear myself. Ideas that never occurred to me were brought to my attention. Strategies I could have never initiated were brought into the fold. Now, I feel like a virtuoso; a CEO, with the best team that creates the most wonderful music from our synchronicity. Every day, I'm reminded of the power of human potential and the incredible things we can achieve together. How did it feel to take an uncomfortable step? I would love to hear in the comments. #leadership #teamwork #innovation #growth #grateful
