Specific problems require specific solutions. One of the tasks of the UAV DACH Application Groups is to identify and clearly specify these solutions. Regarding #UAS supported #inspection of power lines and gas pipelines, for example, many interested companies are faced with the problem that this cannot be realized for regulatory reasons – despite already functional technology. In order to prevent a useful application for #drones from remaining blocked, the new Application Group "Line Inspection", with the participation of member companies such as Siemens Energy, Thyssengas and GASCADE Gastransport GmbH, will develop proposals on what needs to be done at European and national level to enable inspections of power lines and gas pipelines with UAS. UAV DACH - Association for Unmanned Aviation is committed to shaping the regulatory framework for the European #drone economy in the interests of its members. Its aim is to support the safe, commercial and sustainable operation of #unmanned #aerial systems. As a strong community, the European association based in Germany organizes networking and information for all relevant stakeholders from business, politics and society.

#FridayFunfact Ever seen or heard of an unmanned helicopter? 🤔 Technological advancements are significantly reshaping the aerospace industry. From advances in autonomous systems and artificial intelligence to breakthroughs in materials science and propulsion technology, companies are harnessing cutting-edge innovations to boost performance, efficiency, and safety. Now, the energy sector is leveraging these aerospace breakthroughs—like unmanned helicopters. The use of unmanned helicopters (UAVs) in the energy industry dates back to the early 2000s when industries started exploring drones for inspection and monitoring tasks. A notable example is the Yamaha RMAX, which was initially developed in the 1990s for agricultural purposes but was later adapted for industrial uses. Common unmanned helicopters used in the energy sector include the Schiebel CAMCOPTER S-100 and the Yamaha RMAX. The Yamaha R-MAX was among the earliest UAVs employed for tasks such as power line and pipeline inspection, starting in Japan and later adopted by energy companies in the U.S. and other regions to survey infrastructure in remote or difficult-to-access areas. Report has it that the global unmanned helicopter market, valued at USD 5.19 billion in 2021, is projected to reach USD 15.12 billion by 2029, with a CAGR of 15.09% during 2021-2029. While the exact number of unmanned helicopters currently deployed is not publicly available, it is estimated that hundreds are currently deployed across North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. The adoption of unmanned helicopters is revolutionizing the way we inspect power lines, wind turbines, and pipelines. These cutting-edge technologies enable real-time data transmission, reduce operational risks, and lower costs. We can sure say the future of energy infrastructure management is soaring—literally—with innovation toward a more sustainable, safe tomorrow. What are your thoughts on this innovation? Is it a right step in the right direction or believe it's just one of those innovations contributing to outdated skill sets?🤔 📹© ZIYAN UAS #helicopters #inspection #energyindustry
