Without a doubt the number one thing I hear when talking to our partners is the challenge of finding qualified, reliable and experienced professionals to bring on board. This article has some "no brainers" as in implementing a referral program but also some insightful thoughts as well. https://lnkd.in/gZtVZce4

I saw a post on here from a leading business leader, stating that he had partnered with a recruitment agency that had sent him a final invoice, even though they had not succeeded in finding someone. You'd be surprised at how common this is for the SHREK firms. They invoice you based on the amount of days spent on the search, not on completion. That's like going out for dinner and being charged for the amount of time you spend sitting in the restaurant, not based on the amount of food you eat. Partnering with people in recruitment is about solving their problems. Now look, I agree sometimes you can't find someone who fits the brief. But it's your job to educate the customer about why and steer them to redirect the search. We can't make people grow on trees, we aren't magicians. But it is our fundamental job to educate, consult, provide data and resteer searches when they do not go to plan. That's why you've got the consultant bit at the end of your recruitment consultant job title. Time to start using it I think.

What are your motivations around owning your own recruitment agency? This is one, of the many, questions we ask our prospective clients to answer prior to meeting with the wider Isotope team. It's part of a list of questions that, after a few conversations over the phone, allows us to suitably prep for any face-to-face meetings we have with the wider Isotopre prior to working together. We're lucky enough to be meeting with a recruiter tomorrow & here's their answer to the above question ⬇️ 🗣️ "Autonomy, that's the main reason. I want to do this to create something that’s mine, that I can feel proud of and put my own stamp on. It also simply just feels like the right time for us as a family, we want to feel the financial benefits of my work and build something that enables us to live a comfortable life. My longer-term aim is to build an asset which I can then go on to sell and exit in the future - hopefully ensuring that it can be fruitful for people who join along the way." For me, I think this really encapsulates why so many recruiters make the leap to launch their own agencies. Excited to sit down with them tomorrow & talk even more about what ABC Recruitment might well look like in the months & years to come 👏🏻 #recruitmentstartup #recruitmentinvestment #recruitmentbusinesssupport #recruitmentbusinesssetup #businesstips #recruitmentstartuptips
