What a week! It's my turn to reflect on #DevLearn 2024. Here's what I'm taking away: re: People! ❤️ -L&D is a passionate industry. -Everyone I met had a desire to make an impact. -Connecting IRL is always a treat! re: Learning. 🤓 - Look for data that already exists in the industry for common programs (leadership, onboarding, etc.) - Give the data back. If you ask for it, share the results. People are curious. Dr. Alaina Szlachta - Use a product management brain: Launch before perfection, deliver fast, avoid scope creep. Maria Weaver M.Ed. re: Reminders ❗ - Change happens over time, not all at once - Stakeholders can be difficult. Look for their genius first. - The same word can mean something different from organization to organization. Align with org culture and corresponding language re: Impressed 😲 - The Learning Guild puts on a well run show - one where they are organized AND care about all who attend. - All of the #volunteers were top notch. I never had to wonder where to ask a question or which direction to go next. - #Vendors are just as passionate about improving the work of L&D as the attendees. Thank you to everyone who made this event the place to be for connections and learning last week!
Thank you Jess. I really appreciated your program on moving L&D to Strategic Business Partners over just doers.
It was a very inspiring week!
I also found the event engaging. I'll second that "give the data back" piece, with an added twist. Share it with the learners too! Show them the results of their efforts beyond a thumbs up for finishing.
Thanks for the shoutout, Jess Almlie! We love these insights and hope to see you again at another Learning Guild event very soon! :)

3wThe week at DevLearn was an incredible, high energy opportunity. I really enjoyed connecting IRL, Jess, and wish we had more time. There was so much to fit into 2.5 days! I look forward to participating again next year. Will anyone bet at Learning2024?
