Back in Dublin at SaaStock where I'm discussing growth stories with my friend and partner Vinoth Jayakumar from Molten Ventures. My experience in FintechOS taught me that various stakeholders have different needs: 1. Customers want to see that you're commited, efficient and always driving value for them. 2. Partners (aka Employees) need clarity, independence, recognition and an ambitious plan. 3. Investors thrive on predictibility, transparency and return on investment. I reflect on my experience with the team at FintechOS and feel that there are times when we do well and moments when we drop some balls but we're always consistent to one of our core values: be better everyday. Founders, please also do reference calls for angel investors, even if it's a small ticket. I know you want to finish the round and are happy that all these angels want to write a check. But there are some angels around (some, not many, luckily) that have a bad reputation. They will make your follow-up round more challenging. I recently had a call with an investor who called an angel a "red flag" when I asked him about the angel. It's often not worth that one check, especially if you have the choice.
