I couldn't agree more with Steve's comment on, 'Making sure leaders can actually lead' - I remember stepping into my first leadership position, without any training or experience and feeling completely out of my depth. Overtime, I fine tuned my leadership practice but it was the school of hard knocks to get there! Leadership is a completely different skillset to the technical roles that we often get promoted from. It requires you to wear different hats - some of us will pick it up naturally but for most people leadership requires self awareness, reflection, skills development and LOTS of practice. Please help set your leaders up for success by providing adequate leadership formation opportunities and spaces for leadership to flourish.

They will have to establish personal ties with managers at lower levels in order to help find and maintain relationships with the high-potential leaders in their firms.
