One of the hardest questions on the Part 107 test is when it comes to reading the Sectional Chart. The second hardest is the Weather briefing strip. We will discuss this at a later date. There is so much information on the Sectional Chart that it can be overwhelming. Back in the day. I hate using that term. It makes me sound old and outdated. I assure you I am not stuck in the past. Anyway, back in the day, all we had were the Section Charts and Approach Plates (both were paper) to work with while we were flying. It was a chore to handle the paper charts and fly the airplane at the same time and to do the calculations in flight. For those that grew up in that era know what I am talking about. I much prefer the cool technology of today. Unfortunately, my manned aircraft days are behind me. I do play with the cool instrumentation in flight simulators. I wished I had that 40 years ago. Anyway, I learned to read the Section Charts out of necessity. This link https://lnkd.in/gUJkFRN5 provides a Cross Section through Sky Harbor International Airport that will help to decipher the information shown on the chart for the Part 107 pilot. Take a look at this cross section to help you with breaking down each segment of controlled airspace. It is quite busy here in Phoenix, AZ. Personally flying GA out of Deer Valley on regular basis, I can attest to how busy the Phoenix airspace is! Modern, digital flight apps sure do make it easy to navigate.
