Imagine the mental well-being campaign with two Men instead of two Women. The real issue isn’t that women are “naturally” more empathetic. It’s that men are conditioned to suppress it. We’ve trapped men in a cage of toxic masculinity, where vulnerability is weakness, and silence is strength—especially in Asian culture. But imagine a world where men aren’t just strong but emotionally available. Where a man can say, “I can’t hold it in anymore,” without shame. 👉 What if we stopped telling men to ‘Man Up’ and started teaching them to Open Up? As we kick off Mental Wellbeing Month: ➡️ It’s time to break the cycle. ➡️ It’s time to change the narrative. ➡️ It’s time to let men lead with vulnerability. The world is ready. Are we? #MentalHealth #ToxicMasculinity #OpenUp #BreakTheCycle #Vulnerability

A world where men aren't just strong but emotionally available... I am looking forward to that world! ❤️

Intersectionality will always exist and i believe we will need more research to determine the best way to break the shackles of tradition and legacy

First, we need to stop telling young boys "Boys don't cry." Showing emotions is not a privilege for only certain gender.

Sounds like a recipe for the end of civlisation. In a world where men and boys are being emasculated they can find help in men's sheds (where they're actually available).

I love your reframe of 'Open Up' instead of 'Man Up' Jingjin Liu 👏. Allowing men to open up and be in touch with their emotions will also allow them to empathize with women and people who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community. It will give them the emotional intelligence to understand that their words are attacking them but are being used to express how they feel.

I believe for this particular campaign, there are posters where both are men, though in a family setting. Fewer men share with their woes with "bros" I suppose

Thanks for the reminder that communication goes both ways. Normalising that it's okay for men to open up is the first step. It can be uncomfortable, but then growth happens through that discomfort.

This is such a powerful call to action! 🙌 I’ve seen how suppressing emotions can lead to burnout and imbalance. By encouraging men to open up, we’re not just changing individual lives, we’re shifting entire cultures towards greater emotional well-being.

Absolutely! It’s so important to challenge toxic masculinity and encourage emotional openness. Let’s support men in being vulnerable and redefine strength together!
