A mind bending day at Applied AI for Distributors Conference in Chicago. #DSGai2024 The brilliant Zack Kass with a great 90 minute key note. "Social media is the heroin of a generation", "Artificial General Intelligence arrives by 2030" "We are moving to a world of unparalleled abundance" "Cancer cured and fusion energy both realities in next 20 years due in no small part to AI". Mark Brohan with the realities of distributors embrace of technology thus far. Distributor electronic commerce by channel - EDI ~64%, E-Commerce site ~22%, E-procurement 8.6% & Marketplaces 4.3%. (Chat GPT tells me EDI "starting gaining traction in 1970s"). So there you have it - radical change in next 20 years and yet today we get just as many requests from distributors to implement a new edi connection (40+ year old technology) as we do to implement anything else re e-commerce let alone A/I. I think it's fair to assume the future is not going to be a straight line of adoption.
