🤝 Global Business, Global Connections 🌍 After a successful day visiting customers with my colleague Michael Willette from the US 🇺🇸 it’s only right to take him to the best kebap spot in my hometown Stuttgart 😃🍽️ Why do we do this? Because we’re a global company with global customers. 🌎 Projects can span across different places in the world and people from different parts of the globe work together to make them happen. That’s why it’s crucial to always see the Big Picture. 🔍 Cross-border communication plays a key role here. Not only does it help us create the best solutions but it also ensures that taking care of our global customers doesn’t stop at national borders. From my international experience I can say that’s often where the real magic happens — building the strongest relationships and achieving the best results as a global thinking team! 💡 But it’s not just our customers who value this approach. Even internally we share valuable insights that introduce us to new ways of working, fresh perspectives and inspiration. 💬 I’m always fascinated by how much you can learn by having a coffee or a beer with a international colleague🍻☕️. Plus these moments give you the chance to not only know your colleagues better professionally but also connect with them on a personal level. A big ,,thank you“ Mike for your passion and the incredible value you brought to our customers and all the people who made that happen 🙌 #GlobalTeam #CrossCultural #KnowledgeSharing #Networking

What inspires you - or me? I was asked this question earlier this week and it actually stopped me to think about it. The answer is very simple, in the end. It is most inspirational to see our teams succeeding in what they are doing - specifically when nothing comes easy. This week specifically has been very inspirational and rewarding - during one week only we have signed four (!) new deals for our market leading EMS solution - EG EnerKey. And not just any deals, but deals in all of our key markets; Denmark, Norway and Finland. These never come easy. Competition is tough and customers are demanding, but by bringing value to customer, our sales team have - again - been succesful. It just couldn't feel better when you know that our solution IS the market leader in Nordics - we are honored and proud to be able to help our customers on their sustainability and energy efficiency journey every day. But this week also showed the strength of our teams also in difficult situations. We were facing a possible service delivery impacting issue with unclear root cause but through co-operation, collaboration, systematic troubleshooting and persistence of individuals the problem was resolved before it ever became an issue. This, if something, inspires me as well! Colin Powell has said: "There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure." And so it is. And that what inspires me. (The picture below is a view from my remote office last night, that inspires me as well.) EG A/S #sustainability #achievingtogether #teamwork

☕ Fika: How #Sweden Runs on Coffee (and Collaboration!) 🌍 Not only survived, but thrived on my first week in Stockholm thanks to the kind team! One tradition has truly captured my attention (many to come I guess) —and my coffee-loving heart: #fika. For the uninitiated, fika is more than a coffee break; it’s a pause for #connection, #collaboration, and, yes, cinnamon buns. Swedes know great ideas spark over shared moments, while in Switzerland, meetings are as punctual and efficient as our trains. Breaks exist, but they're not as institutionalized like fika. On the other hand, I see a lot of shared business values between Sweden and Switzerland. Here’s what I’m learning: ☕ Coffee builds #trust – Trust is the foundation of leadership. Just like fika encourages authentic conversations, great leaders take time to nurture relationships, both inside and outside the office. 💡 Coffee fuels #collaboration – Business is about teamwork. Fika creates space to brainstorm and solve problems together. Collaboration drives success across cultures, whether in Sweden or Switzerland. 🐌 Coffee #slows us #down (in a good way) – Global business moves fast, but great leaders know when to slow down. Taking a coffee break can lead to better productivity. 🌏 Coffee #bridgescultures – Whether it’s Swiss espresso or Swedish kaffe, coffee connects people across borders. Embracing diversity is key to building a shared global vision. 🎨 Coffee inspires #innovation – Creativity often sparks during relaxed moments. As leaders, our job is to create environments where innovation flourishes through collaboration. At IamIP, a truly international company, I’m seeing how these lessons translate into a collaborative, innovation-driven culture. It’s inspiring to watch ideas flourish where efficiency and connection come together. Whether it’s a fika in Stockholm or a meeting in Zurich, the magic happens when we pause, connect, and collaborate. What business traditions have shaped your leadership style? Let’s share insights over a virtual fika! ☕✨ #Leadership #GlobalBusiness #IamIP #CulturalDiversity #Fika #Innovation #Sweden #Switzerland

Navigating different cultures in the global business landscape can be challenging, especially as the complexity of sales continues to evolve. Therefore, understanding cultural nuances is key to successful interactions and collaborations across borders. This week Dave Cusdin shares his wisdom on what has worked for him during his expansive career in Global Account Management. Dave outlines that one effective approach is seeking advice from individuals who have firsthand experience with the culture in question. Whether through books, training programs, or direct partnerships, learning from those immersed in a specific culture can provide valuable insights and foster empathy. Empathy plays a crucial role in bridging cultural gaps, emphasizing the importance of treating others with the same respect and consideration one expects in return. By engaging with individuals from diverse backgrounds and seeking their guidance, we can enhance our cultural sensitivity and improve cross-cultural communication. What are your thoughts on working with key accounts cross-culturally? We’d be interested to hear your insights. If you need guidance with navigating Key Account Management – please get in touch.
