I'm officially a "Goal Hanger" and I love it... Here's the definition, Goal hanging is considered an unsportsmanlike tactic, and players who engage in it are often described as "bone-idle glory seekers" Here's the scenario, my candidate received an offer accepted, signed the contract and was due to start on Monday.... Deal done job done. We get communication from the client that things have changed in the business and the position is being pulled as well as the other candidate placed by another recruitment business. I find my candidate a further 2 positions but I also find out who the other poor candidate is, make contact, introduce myself and FSG. This new candidate for FSG has also 2 interviews with new clients, 🤞 for both of them. If you want to call me a "Goal Hanger" then please do, but my candidates whether new or old are my number one priority. I'd rather be called the "Haaland of Recruitment"😁 your loss is my gain, think fast and stay laser focused. #MrMarmite

It's National Handshake Day! I greet every applicant who walks in my door with smile and a handshake. At times, it seems confusing to the other person and I wonder if handshakes are not something that happens in business anymore or if it's just my location. 🤔 Anyway, I think a good handshake helps to assess a person's confidence. I've read: The "Dead Fish": A limp handshake conveys lack of interest. The "Bone Crusher": Nobody enjoys a painful handshake. The "Pump": Avoid repeatedly pumping the other person's hand. In a job hunt, a confident handshake, along with your skills and experience, can help you land the job! 😀 Which handshake do you hate the most? Before a couple of weeks ago, I'd have said the Dead Fish but I got a total Bone Crusher not that long ago and my hand still hurts from it! 😗
