While there's no official statement available yet from Malaysia's TVET Push industry players regarding the National Semiconductor Strategy (NSS), we can #speculate on their #potential stance based on the goals of both initiatives. The NSS aims to develop a skilled workforce for the semiconductor industry, which aligns perfectly with a core objective of the TVET Push: equipping Malaysians with industry-relevant skills. Collaboration between these two initiatives could be mutually beneficial. Here's a possible scenario: • TVET institutions can adapt their programs to align with the specific needs of the semiconductor industry as outlined in the NSS. This could involve incorporating new technologies, design principles, and manufacturing processes into the curriculum. • The government and industry players could provide incentives for TVET institutions to develop these specialized programs. This could include funding, equipment donations, or guest lectures from industry experts. • TVET graduates with the necessary skills would be well-positioned to secure employment in the growing semiconductor sector, achieving the goals of both the NSS and the TVET Push. Overall, the interplay between the National Semiconductor Strategy and the TVET Push has the potential to be mutually beneficial. By working together, the government, TVET institutions, and the semiconductor industry can ensure a skilled workforce is ready to capitalize on the growth opportunities in this sector.

Natcast has launched the NSTC Membership program, a consortium aimed at strengthening the U.S. semiconductor industry through innovation and collaboration. The National Semiconductor Technology Center (NSTC), designated by the U.S. Department of Commerce, will enhance U.S. competitiveness in semiconductor leadership. Members will gain access to advanced research facilities, participate in member-driven research agendas, and support initiatives for developing a skilled workforce, with resources expected to be available starting in 2025. The NSTC has three strategic goals: to reinforce U.S. semiconductor leadership with innovative research, to streamline the transition from lab to fabrication, and to expand the semiconductor workforce. Deirdre Hanford, CEO of Natcast, described the program as a crucial step towards a new era of technology and collaboration. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo emphasized the NSTC’s role as a foundation for future semiconductor breakthroughs. Membership is divided into Core and Affiliate categories. Core membership is for organizations directly involved in semiconductor development, while Affiliate membership includes those participating from non-research sectors like workforce or investment. This launch supports recent initiatives like R&D funding programs and the establishment of initial R&D facilities and a Workforce Center of Excellence, aligning with Natcast's mission to accelerate semiconductor technology and workforce leadership. #Semiconductors #All Countries https://lnkd.in/gR3CQ9iY
