The U1713 converts ASCB (Versions A,B,C) from ARINC 429. There are so many Honeywell AHRS and LASERREF's that are going obsolete. There are many solid ARINC 429 AHRS on the market using stable technology. INS can be replaced with an AHRS, provided there is GPS navigation. Important note is that INS systems are not a panecea to GPS-spoofing scenarios because the INS can get infected and stay infected with bad position once the GPS is deselected. It's better to let the FMS degrade to an RNAV mode without GPS/INS position. Canaan Avionics is pursuing STC's to replace ASCB attitude systems with ARINC 429 AHRS, such as those from Garmin.
