This weekend, my team competed our second Geo-to-Geo migration of a Business Central environment from one tenant to another M365 tenant. The first one (in 2021) needed assistance from MS Support teams to complete the migration, it needed careful planning with both MS and the customer to achieve. It took a lot of time and energy from all three to complete. There were a lot of steps for each to carry out to achieve a successful migration. Since the first release of the feature in 2021, it has been enhanced by MS and so has become *much* easier; the whole process can be completed by a customer or partner without any need to involve MS Support. 💪 It can now be completed in a few hours. This video explains it really well--> https://lnkd.in/eZ3kjHfy A couple of gotcha's to watch out for: 1) licencing doesn't transfer from your source to destination tenant, so you'll need to plan that carefully (especially if you're on annual NCE licencing) 2) we encountered a small bug in the destination tenant where we couldn't see the pending transfer for approval, the approval button is lit, but you can see the environment you need to approve. Other than these, it just works and makes this process very easy for customers who are acquiring businesses or consolidating tenants. An excellent feature, not used often, but is so satisfying to be able to say *yes* to a customer when they ask if it's easy to move BC between environments! 😎 #TeamCD #msdyn365BC #msdyngp
