The Stage: Africa’s emerging corporations versus the worlds global monopolies. With the right models AND collaboration we can compete, but we need to change the rules if we want to win. No one can dispute that the worlds new super powers comprise a handful of global technology companies, all deploying centralised platform business models, and each turning over more revenue and cash than the majority of countries. Whilst we have some great examples of African corporations expanding across Africa, and in some cases globally, they collectively only represent a low single digital percentage of the global economy. By implication they cannot compete when it comes to traditional shareholder capital. However through changing the rules by implementing decentralised exponential platform business models (digital cooperatives) that leverage the aggregated stakeholder capital of Africa, we can compete and even thrive. IMAGINE: our top 100 corporates pooling their collective capital, combined with Africas stakeholder capital, via digital cooperatives, that harness and export Africa’s Mineral and Human Resources to the rest of the world - for shared value. Time for our large corporates to take bold steps and lead Africa into becoming the next global super power - for the benefit of all Africans.

Honored to be part of the discussion at the 30th Nigerian Economic Summit (NES #30)! This past week, I got an invite to join a discussion at the 30th Nigerian Economic Summit (NES #30). The summit, jointly hosted by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG)(Think Tanks) , brought together regional and global leaders to explore strategies for accelerating economic growth and development in Africa. I had the opportunity to contribute to an important discussion on "Digital Inclusion – Closing the Accessibility Gap." I highlighted the importance of conducting needs assessments to understand the unique challenges faced by communities before implementing digital literacy programs and interventions. This approach ensures that we can relate to their daily struggles and design solutions that truly address these complexities. The conversations also touched on key concerns such as collaboration, ownership, and de-risking partnerships for more effective policy implementation. I’m excited about the opportunities that lie ahead for leveraging innovation, stakeholder involvement, and digital evolution to drive economic growth.
