Flashback Friday: Fragrance Field Trip Getting to show my mom and my BFF (Best Fragrance Friend as I like to call her) Elise fragrances here in San Diego. I have a for fun fragrance Instagram called “Operation: Olfaction” that I based off of my love for showing the people I care about the world of niche fragrance, and helping them find the right fragrance for them. With an emphasis on the last part. I made my Instagram to help people explore the world of niche fragrance, answer questions, and participate in live streams with friends from the fragrance community and content creators. I have gotten to do a few live sessions on topics such as layering, picking the right fragrances for the right events, and analysis on olfactory pyramids and attempting to understanding how the selected notes flow together and help create a story on the skin from opening to dry down. I even have friends who work in sales contact me for recommendations for their clients, or if they have specific questions that they would like a non biased opinion on. It has truly brought me tons of fun and some amazing friends (though so had LinkedIn despite it’s more formal style, networking here has brought some amazing people with fascinating stories into my life). The fragrance community and industry is something that I have found genuine happiness and joy in. Being able to help spread the love of fragrance is something I am deeply passionate about. I know that it has the power to bring others as much joy and happiness as it has brought to me. When I saw this picture pop up on my phone, I could not only remember the amazing scents but the feeling of togetherness and happiness in all of us. I am constantly grateful for the purpose fragrance brought into my life.
