Our boys are loving their new Lego sets. Building with them over the last few days got me thinking. Carts are little bit like Lego, except my team and I get to be the elves who create the instructions. We recently had a 500+ cart scope. This means over 9000 individual components that we needed to ship to our client, and we needed to be sure everything arrived in a logical manner and with intuitive instructions. So, we got to work. We spent days organizing how to categorize every component, so the PO is easy to follow and without any repetition, and ensuring every number on the PO matches the correct box. Then, the fun part (for us, anyways): We developed a recipe -with drawings- so our client could easily track that everything has arrived, and have crystal clear instructions on how to assemble everything. This approach is what has kept our clients and their end users happy for 10 years now. We keep it simple for them and it means things are done right the first time. And maybe that's where the Lego analogy ends because I can't remember the last time my boys and I built a Lego set without needing to backtrack at least once! #lego #medicalcartsandstorage #bchealthcare
