This milestone further reinforces our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. In June 2023, Shuangliang was awarded the French Carbon Assessment certificate issued by the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (#ADEME). BSI's rigorous evaluation process involved a comprehensive assessment of our GHG emissions, including direct emissions from production processes, indirect emissions from energy consumption, transportation, and product use. The verification included sampling, recalculation, and cross-checking Shuangliang continually improves our energy and material efficiency to drive innovation while reducing manufacturing costs and minimizing environmental impact. Like in other countries, energy efficiency labels in Indonesia use a star rating system to tell consumers how much electricity an appliance will use. This can lead to long-term cost and energy savings for consumers and governments. In Jakarta, CLASP, Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), and The Society of Indonesian Environmental Journalists | SIEJ, hosted a workshop for local journalists, outlining why energy labels matter. Syarif Riyadi, Founder & CTO of Energy Academy Indonesia (ECADIN), recently outlined the opportunities and challenges facing Indonesia's battery sector at the International Symposium on Critical Metals for Battery Production from Primary and Alternative Resources. The symposium was held on July 15-16, 2024, at the Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. He highlighted that embracing new battery technologies and securing battery recycling processes through clear regulations and collaborative technological approaches is indeed a powerful strategy for Indonesia to foster a cleaner and greener future. By 2030, Indonesia could see around 1.096 GWh of used EV batteries, consisting of 329 MWh of NMC-based batteries and 767 MWh of LFP-based batteries. The Malaysian government has approved the establishment of Energy Exchange Malaysia (Enegem) to facilitate green electricity sales to neighboring countries, aligning with its energy transition goals and commitment to the ASEAN Power Grid Initiative (APG). Enegem's platform, operating under the Energy Commission's guidelines, will initiate a 100 MW pilot auction connecting Peninsular Malaysia to Singapore, inviting Renewable Energy (RE) Bidders to participate. Nextgreen IOI Pulp Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Nextgreen Global Bhd, has partnered with Xiamen C&D Paper & Pulp Group Co Ltd to establish a green paper pulp production facility in Pahang's Green Technology Park. Meanwhile, Solarvest Energy Sdn Bhd will install Malaysia's largest on-site photovoltaic panels at 1 Utama Shopping Centre, spanning 273,300 square feet and generating over 5,700 kWp of renewable energy. Additionally, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) is leading efforts for sustainable green mining practices, preserving Malaysia's natural heritage while tapping into geological resources' economic potential. Initiatives include establishing the National Geological Disaster Centre and a NR-REE project, alongside expanding national geoparks.
