Inch by inch…. Fighting like a Team. Just watched one more time “Any Given Sunday” movie and I really love Al Pacino’s “Inch by Inch” speech. It is a powerful reminder of the importance of perseverance, teamwork, and the cumulative value of small efforts. The metaphor of fighting for every inch reflects the struggles we face in life, where progress often feels slow and hard-fought. Yet, these inches—seemingly insignificant on their own—add up to monumental achievements when pursued relentlessly. The speech also highlights the interconnectedness of individual contributions within a team. Success isn’t achieved alone; it requires collective effort and trust in others to strive just as hard for those incremental gains. Ultimately, it’s a call to embrace the grind, to fight for progress in the face of adversity, and to recognize that greatness comes one small step at a time. Is this what we have now in NZ???? Can’t help thinking there’s are brush strokes of this here in NZ. So, the Big Choice to face us all here in NZ, is 1. Do we allow big profits to enable employment OR 2. Do we tax profits to uplift the health and literacy overall?

Growing up, I found profound inspiration in two fictional characters: Rocky Balboa 🥊 and Superman 🦸♂️, as portrayed by Christopher Reeve. Rocky, the underdog boxer from Philadelphia, taught me the value of perseverance and resilience. His journey from obscurity to boxing champion epitomizes the belief that with determination, any obstacle can be overcome. One of his most memorable quotes encapsulates this spirit: ✨ "It ain't about how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!" ✨ This quote resonates so deeply with me that I had it printed on a canvas. 🖼️ It hangs behind my office chair, serving as a constant reminder of the power of grit and determination. 💪 If I don’t use a virtual background or blur my camera, it’s visible to anyone who joins a video call with me. 🎥 Similarly, Christopher Reeve's portrayal of Superman instilled in me the importance of using one's abilities for the greater good. Superman’s unwavering commitment to justice and his humility despite his immense power serve as a benchmark for integrity and altruism. Reeve himself once remarked, 💡 "What makes Superman a hero is not that he has power, but that he has the wisdom and the maturity to use the power wisely." 💬 These lessons from Rocky Balboa and Superman have been instrumental in shaping me.
