For some of us building career in #HR and Administration. As an HR and Administrative professional with experience across various industries, I've come to appreciate the versatility of my role as a business partner. To build a solid career and earn a seat at the decision-making table, you must have a business partnership mentality. And the only way to do this is to understand the industry you're operating in. The truth is, you can't manage what you don't understand. Throughout my career, I've made it a point to immerse myself in each new industry I join. In hospitality, I studied the ins and outs of the business, and my colleagues thought I had a degree in hospitality! In fintech, I learned about loans, MPR, non-performing loans, amortization, and more. And now, in real estate and construction, I'm not content to just sit at my desk. I actively visit sites, learn from engineers and artisans, and even asked our equipment manager to send me pictures and explanations of all the equipment, from D8s to pay-loaders. As an HR professional or Administrator, your success depends on how well you understand the business. You can't create policies and procedures for something you don't understand. Managing medical doctors, construction site workers, techies, or consultants requires different approaches. Your job is to balance the 3Ps: people, process, and policies. It's a tough task, but with a business partnership mentality, you can effectively support both the company and staff. #hrwithobiora

💚How to Stay Organized and on Top of Tasks as an HR Administrator 💚 ✅Make Tick-able Lists Don’t try to keep a list of things you need to do in your head — that’s the easiest way to forget something. Write it down, and make it tick-able to track your progress. ✅Assess Importance and Urgency Determine if a task is both urgent and important. If it is, it should be number one on your list. ✅Consider Consequences and Deadlines Write down deadlines on your list and consider the size of each task. If a task is time-consuming and has an upcoming deadline, it’s better to get started on it sooner rather than later. ✅Focus on One Task at a Time Avoid multitasking, especially during detailed work like updating records or handling contracts. Complete one task fully before moving on to the next. ✅Stay Proactive: Regularly review your workload and anticipate busy periods and be proactive in doing things earlier to make life easier for your future self. #ThePeopleAgency #HR #Admin
