Exciting Subsea Cables news! 🚀 Four European countries are making big moves with a €3.5 billion subsea cable project to boost green energy! 🌍💡 Azerbaijan, Romania, Georgia, and Hungary signed a joint venture to bring renewable electricity from the South Caucasus straight to Europe. This massive Black Sea Energy subsea cable will power around 1 million homes, diversifying energy sources and hopefully lowering costs. Romania's grid operator Transelectrica, Azerbaijan's Azerenerji, Georgia's GSE, and Hungary's MVM are leading this project. It's expected to be completed in 3-4 years and will transform the Black Sea into a renewable energy hub, supported by a hefty €2.3 billion from the European Commission. Get ready for a green energy revolution! 💪 What are your thoughts on this ambitious project? #RenewableEnergy #GreenEnergy #Europe

The Baltic electricity grid will be disconnected from the Russian controlled network BRELL and integrated into the European network in February 2025. From this moment on frequency of the electric grid has to be stabilized by local resources, and we will not be able to rely on outsider powers (in this case huge hydropower plants in Russia). On the top level these local resources are huge too. For example, nine big synchronous compensators will or are installed in the Baltics. The compensators in Latvia have been installed. Further the required Battery Energy Storage Systems are enormous as well. The plan is to have batteries with a total capacity of 160 MWh in two locations in Latvia. But the company Evecon in Estonia plans even more - two units with a total capacity of 400 MWh. But there is another level of local resources required – small and midsize companies working on infrastructure and storage solutions for electricity. Therefore @German-Baltic Chamber will host a conference on energy infrastructure and storage in Tallinn, Estonia on October 8. The conference will be followed by B2B meetings with the following German companies in Latvia on October 10 and 11: · AP Sensing · Elia Grid International (EGI) · ELTEC Green Energy GmbH · HIS Renewables GmbH · Megger · Notus energy Plan GmbH & Co. KG The project is financed by Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action and carried out in partnership with Renewables Academy (RENAC). #grid #Latvia #Baltics #renewables #energy #bess #energystorage
