📍Here are some common first aid mistakes to avoid: 1. Not calling for professional help when needed 2. Delaying medical attention 3. Incorrectly applying bandages or dressings 4. Using expired or contaminated first aid supplies 5. Not properly cleaning and disinfecting wounds 6. Applying direct pressure to a wound with a foreign object embedded 7. Removing an impaled object from a wound 8. Giving medication without proper training or authorization 9. Not monitoring vital signs (e.g., pulse, breathing rate) 10. Not staying with the injured person until help arrives 11. Moving someone with a potential neck or spine injury 12. Using a tourniquet incorrectly or unnecessarily 13. Not using personal protective equipment (e.g., gloves) 14. Not keeping first aid kits fully stocked and easily accessible 15.
