The absolute state of some of these 'business coach' or 'sales coach' emails. I just got one where they pasted in a forwarded email to them saying their team identified me as a CEO who knows about relationship building and how I could contribute to their white paper and talk more about coaching. So naturally they got in touch! The forwarded email contained this: "David, I was searching for training/coaching CEOs in Mevagissey and came across John. Looks like a great person to interview to get insights for our white paper." I live in a tiny fishing village in Cornwall. Yet, according to this coaching and sales company, Meva is a buzzing hive of CEO coaching talent—a breathtaking smorgasbord of entrepreneurs, VCs, multi-national business gurus, and world leaders, all nestled into Meva. Of course, in this quest for world-leading top talent in a village with a population of 1800 people, I have emerged victorious. Now is the time to truly unleash my coaching excellence on the rest of the world rather than selfishly limit my sermons of brilliance to the fishing boats, the postman and our local cat, Ralph. The grossness of this attempt at building a relationship stood out from the others. I note that the fella is on here touting how to build real relationships. I expect he's got several schemes on the go and divides his time equally between ripping struggling folks off with promises of sales excellence, Fortnite and Tony Robbins books. Gross. #sales #relationships
I had Mevagissey on my networking tour...
