This kind of thinking drives me nuts. Dumb down to the lowest common denominator. Look, money is not the be all/end all. Just because most people listen to the compromised sound of mp3 compression doesn’t mean it is the best choice. Art is about nuance. Subtlety. Experience. And aspiring to create the best. Is it ok to test what something is going to sound like on a cheap pair of headphones that most people have? Sure. But that shouldn’t mean throw the baby out with the bath water. Design for the best, then make necessary compromise. Don’t go B.S. saying something isn’t needed just because most don’t have a very high quality multi speaker array. “You don’t need professional tools to create professional content” is B.S. - Yes you do! Go listen to a professional orchestra playing with student instruments. I mean, after all most music is played on student instruments… Really? That’s your argument? No thank you.
