There's a reason I often refer to my commercial team at Pointerpro as "solution experts" instead of "sales reps." Because It sounds less profit-focused? Actually, no. It's because all of them 𝐝𝐨 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲'𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥. Why? Because that enables them to 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐚 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐬 #𝐑𝐎𝐈 out of their subscription. If I was too excited and busy to take any selfies, was I really there? Of course I was at the Digital Accountancy Show yesterday 👍 Well done and congrats again to the team led by Dan Cockerton (who I congratulated personally!) 👏👏👏 I enjoyed a couple of great talks on the main stage and other talks in the side theatres, including one panel session where I was pleased to support and be impressed by a mentoring client of mine 👍 Chatted with many old friends, met some great new people and gave out loads of BookMarkLee bookmarks. Started conversations with some exhibitors where we might end up doing some business together 🤑 Nice to see some of the newer entrants to the market back for the 2nd or 3rd time. I was still astonished by the high number of new products, apps and software being promoted alongside the main players. Had lunch inside the venue this year - so avoided the downpour and thunder outside (though the best coffee was in the van by the entrance). When asked if I was speaking at the event, I explained numerous times that I didn't have any talks suited to DAS. The one possible exception being the new talk that will premiere at Accountex next month: "The Future demands different accountants to those of yesterday". All in all it was well worth the trip to DAS and I'm sure that all accountants and bookkeepers who attended yesterday and/or today will have been able to ensure it was worthwhile for them too. My highlights included seeing clients and old friends, some ideas I picked from talking with Michael Wood again, the panel discussion re deploying Bots, chaired by Daniel Lawrence, and the various conversations I had re how accountants are adapting to use AI in their practices.
