I Tried the Popular Noom Diet and Here’s What I Learned I interviewed healthcare experts to get their take on Noom, and then I tried the Noom diet for 14 days to find out what this weight loss app is like. Paige CerulliJun 17, 2024 1:23 PM EDT While weight loss programs often involve strict diets and forbidden foods, Noom takes a different approach, allowing users to eat whatever they want. Instead, a psychology-based approach helps users create habits to lose weight and keep it off. To understand whether Noom works, I tried the diet for 14 days. I also interviewed healthcare professionals Rachel Goldberg, M.S., L.M.F.T., a psychotherapist specializing in weight management, and Meghan Garcia-Webb, M.D., triple board-certified in internal medicine, lifestyle medicine, and obesity medicine, to get their insights on Noom. https://lnkd.in/gzW9WiB9

BCAM A-Z Nutrition When I was diagnosed I found the information on what to eat limited and the information on the internet conflicting and confusing. However, there is growing evidence that lifestyle factors, including diet, body weight and physical activity, may be associated with higher risk. So I took advice from a nutritionist who specialised in breast cancer. I believe what and how we eat can make a massive difference to our health. Even though I ate relatively healthily there were many changes I made to my diet in order to reduce the risk of reoccurrence, help ease the side effects of treatment and to strengthen my immune system. My main take aways were to eat more fibre, hydrate more, try and eat as many different plant foods as you can each week, eat less processed foods, eat more pre and pro biotics, eat a savoury breakfast, eat more cruciferous vegetables and fasting. I am a big fan of an approach called integrative oncology/ treatment which looks to combine conventional western medicine with evidence based complementary treatments which can include mind-body practices, lifestyle changes, dietary changes and natural products. Not only has it seen great results, but it also makes you feel more empowered as you can do things to potentially affect your outcome, rather than just being a passenger with conventional treatment.
