Feeding Africa requires our combined efforts. We have the resources but need a little more push to achieve food security. Farming is hard and easy, but it's more difficult if you don't do it. Farming works perfectly if your goals are first driven by passion to solve food insecurity, then profits follow. Too much drive for profits results in excessive use of harmful chemicals to increase yields. Tilling the land should also be minimal to reduce soil disturbance. Together, we can achieve food security and end poverty by empowering more youths to join the journey. Start small, tackle the challenges, learn, and experience growth.
We are preparing the farm for the coming season, turning virgin land into productive land. Remember, Africa has 65% of the world's remaining uncultivated arable land. Truly, Africa is blessed, but we have yet to enjoy the resources, and we are feeling the impact. Over 20% of Africans are undernourished, yet we have enough land and enough labor force to feed the whole World. Join us in this transformational journey because you and us (Clauzy Farms) can solve Africa’s biggest challenges: food insecurity and poverty. #Youngfarmer #BelieveInYourDreams #Farming #FeedThePeople #Foodsecurity #Kenya

Restoration works and, when done right, can provide major benefits to communities. One such example is the “Regreening Africa” initiative which has restored more than 350,000 hectares across Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal and Somalia. It has reached more than 600,000 households through its training and tree-growing efforts. As the African Ministerial Conference on the Environment, #AMCEN, is underway in Abidjan, with a focus on raising Africa’s ambition to reduce land degradation, desertification, and drought, see how this initiative is regreening the continent: https://lnkd.in/dQzGBYfv

This investigation by The Africa Report should be brought to the attention of everybody in the built environment in Kenya. It details how much of the mahogany we regularly use in projects here is leading to the decimation of the Congo Basin. https://lnkd.in/dPMmXj39

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best.

In Arusha, Tanzania, locals have ingeniously transformed desert areas into thriving savannas by digging semicircular holes. This simple method collects rainwater, preventing evaporation, and allowing grass seeds to grow, binding the soil and preventing erosion. Introduced by the NGO Justdiggit, over 200,000 of these holes, called "bunds," have been dug since 2013, aiding in the fight against desertification in Kenya and Tanzania.

In my travels around Australia I visually experienced the devastation from our historical & extensive over clearing of natural scrublands. The balance of productivity to sustainability is crucial!! This would be a great intiative for drought effected farms in Australia..not only to prevent further *salinization & *desertification of our lands but to promote long term healthy crops and native vegetation. We need to continually improve agricultural practices? We need to save our soil!!! *Soil salinization is a major adverse environmental factor that limits crop growth and productivity. Salt stress affects various physiological processes in plants due to the accumulation of sodium (Na+) and chloride ions in soil, which induce osmotic stress, ionic stress, and secondary stresses. *Desertification is the process by which fertile land becomes desert, typically as a result of drought, deforestation, or inappropriate agriculture. "nearly one fifth of the world's land is threatened with desertification"

This is what I’m talking about. People taking the initiative and getting involved in the #climatechange and making the #recoveryprocess a reality. Local people particularly people who know their land are equipped with centuries-old knowledge about #sustainability. When big companies and governments get involved very little gets done as egos and agendas are at play and the ordinary people are ignored and told what to do in their land. This makes me happy and confident that we can make this happen #globally.

This is sustainable development; this is Real intervention; real innovation… To fix the climate issue we most move beyond talking about the crises to Research and Development…. I strongly believe; if Man activities caused the crises; man Activities can also solve the crises…
