Restoration of Temples: A Restoration of Faith and Culture Why should we wait for government, riddled with bad practices, to preserve our age-old heritage? There are aspects of our history and culture that once lost, cannot be reclaimed, no matter how much effort we put in later. As a society, we have the power to restore, protect, and preserve what is invaluable to us. The people of Atmakur village in Telangana have set a shining example. The #PanchakutaShivalayam temple, with its history dating back to the 11th century, was restored through collective community efforts. Instead of waiting for government intervention, the villagers took charge — raising funds, consulting historians and architects, and completing the restoration within 18 months. This example proves that as a society, we can bring change in multiple areas that require urgent attention. From preserving heritage to tackling other challenges, the key is sensitivity, involvement, and collective effort. Let's stop waiting for external help and take responsibility for safeguarding our culture, history, and values. #RestorationOfFaith #CulturalPreservation #CommunityEffort #IndianCulture #Heritage #Atmakur #CollectiveAction #PanchakutaShivalayam #CulturalResponsibilit #jims

A highly fruitful initiative by Aga Khan Foundation in Tanzania. We need more and more schools and educational institutions to involve in plantation activities so that our kids and youth develop connection to nature and understand its importance for addressing climate crisis. #climatechange #sustainability #regenerativeagriculture #soilhealth #agriculture.

In the tranquil Ugandan upcountry, children embark on a daily trek to a remote water source, hauling jerrycans. Their footsteps tell a story of resilience, representing the collective hardship of their community. The children's resolve and burden echo a heritage of resilience handed down through generations. Set against the expansive landscape, their journey evolves into a poignant interplay of necessity and hope, epitomizing the enduring essence of upcountry life in Uganda. #watersecurity #water #offgrid #preparedness #waterwellpump #backuppump #emergencybackup #homesteading #permaculture #prepping #shtf #handpump #cop #simplepump #deepwellpump #offgridliving #sustainability #climatechange #offgridwater #foodsecurity #waterhandpump #handpumpwater #handwaterpumps #survivalist #handpumps #survival #solarpump #offgridlife #waterpump #agriculturepageants

Malawians grow maize as a cash crop — a losing proposition every year. Maize, which in the dry season leaves fields barren and exposed to erosion, quickens topsoil loss and soil infertility. The dwindling yields then place villagers in a debt situation, making them vulnerable to losing all their savings. By restoring fertility and healthy, living soil to fields depleted by decades of maize and chemical fertilizer use, Face-to-Face’s MAIZE FIELDS TO VICTORY FIELDS program confronts the looming crisis of desertification. Without action, millions of families across Africa face increasing challenges to farm their land. This will lead to widespread hunger, poverty, and unrest.
