Growing up, I wasn't taught to see fear as a motivator. Instead, I avoided it. Over time, I realized that avoiding fear led to regrets of missed opportunities. Now, I teach my daughter that fear presents a chance to do good by distinguishing between danger and discomfort with change. Self-awareness is key in managing oneself to become a better leader at work and a role model for my daughter. Thank you, Lara Galinsky, for your insightful article that resonated with me!
