With the recent change in the UK Government, the concept of cabinet reshuffles strikes me as odd. How can an MP go from being an authority on agriculture to leading defence overnight? Some argue that extensive knowledge in specific areas may tie politicians to a particular school of thought, limiting their ability to embrace new or conflicting ideas. However, most careers rely on domain expertise, building trust through experience and wisdom, and providing a closer view of issues and problems. Should our government leaders have domain expertise? And.. Should hiring managers stop looking for competitor and familiar brands, or industry expertise on CV's for senior roles? #Leadership #hiring #expertise
