🌍 Electronics Innovation is Exciting—But #ScrapHappens! The smarter our tech, the more metals, rare earth elements, and resources we burn through. Which also leads also to more production scrap and non-quality output of complex metal-plastic-composites and this isn’t going to #recycle itself! So, how about we turn that waste into something golden? At Terraquota | Environmental Consultancy, in partnership with MWT Recycling, we’re here to help you reclaim value from what would otherwise be (hazardous) trash. Our process turns your scrap into high-quality, low-CO₂ metal concentrates—saving production costs and reduce environmental impact. Because why let good materials go to waste when we can keep them working for you? Heading to SPS – Smart Production Solutions in Nürnberg? Let’s connect there! If you’re ready to rethink your scrap, I’d love to chat. Everyone talks about the #CircularEconomy, but they still emphasize recycling. If we were more focused on repairs, would we talk less about recycling by reducing electronic waste? We need the right to repair, but a good one, to reduce e-waste. A bad one will do the opposite. What does that mean? Steffen Vangerow will take a deeper look into this topic during his discussion in the #CircularElectronics content program at E-Waste World Conference & Expo. https://lnkd.in/gsYu_mbJ #electronicssustainability #R2 #R2v3 #ewwe2024 #SERI #ewaste #circularelectronics #RethinkElectronics

When you purchase a used scale from UniFide CST, you’re not just making the more economical choice. You’re also making a more environmentally sustainable choice. Waste is reduced by extending the life of existing scales through repair and refurbishment instead of discarding them. Not only does this help reduce waste in the scale industry, but it can also help your business further its own sustainability goals. And, when the time comes, UniFide CST can also help you find the right solution for your new equipment needs. https://hubs.ly/Q02GrySJ0 #scale #scales #weightscales #electronicweighingscale #industrialscales #truckscales #manufacturing #weighing #loadcell #digitalscales #sensors

📣 Exploring Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy for Efficient Scrap Metal Sorting ⚙️ Industry : Chemicals & Materials 📍 Country : Germany 💡 The Fraunhofer Institute, in collaboration with Cronimet Ferroleg GmbH, has been exploring the potential of laser technology in the recycling industry. The focus of their research is on the use of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) for the sorting of scrap metal. This technique, which involves the use of a laser to vaporize a small portion of the material and then analyze the resulting plasma, can identify the chemical composition of metals in a matter of seconds. This rapid identification process can significantly improve the efficiency of sorting and recycling processes. In the technical aspects, the LIBS system uses a high-energy laser pulse to create a plasma on the surface of the material. The light emitted by this plasma is then analyzed by a spectrometer, which can identify the elements present in the material based on the wavelengths of light emitted. This process is not only fast but also non-destructive, meaning that the material being analyzed is not damaged or altered in any way. This makes it a effective tool for the recycling industry, where the accurate sorting of materials is crucial for efficient recycling processes. #LaserTechnology #RecyclingInnovation #LIBSSpectroscopy #SustainableManufacturing — ✅ This is one of the 582 circular solutions (from 52 countries) available in DICES. #inspiration #eyeswideopen

Hyperspectral imaging leads the pack when it comes to sorting materials with pinpoint accuracy. It’s especially effective at identifying and sorting materials that traditional methods struggle with—like black plastics, which absorb most visible light and are notoriously difficult to sort. But with HSI, it’s no longer an issue. 1. Captures data across a wide range of wavelengths 2. Differentiates materials based on their unique spectral fingerprints 3. Quickly and efficiently sorts challenging materials, like black plastics For industries focused on recycling, waste management, and manufacturing, this precision reduces contamination, boosts material recovery, and cuts down on sorting costs. It’s a win-win for efficiency and sustainability. Curious about how hyperspectral imaging can transform your material sorting process? Let’s talk. #MaterialSorting #BlackPlasticSorting #HyperspectralImaging #RecyclingEfficiency #WasteManagement #PrecisionSorting #TechForSustainability #ManufacturingInnovation #ReduceContamination #SortingSolutions
