CCA Attends CDFA Collaborative Exchange The California Department of Food and Agriculture's Fairs and Exposition Branch hosted the Collaborative Exchange at Cal Expo, uniting fairground managers and staff from across the State's Network of Fairgrounds. CDFA Secretary Karen Ross and Deputy Secretary Michael Flores were present to engage with over 35 fair managers, representing more than half of the network. The event featured presentations from agency leadership on the future of the marketplace, the Board of Director’s appointments process and the Governor's Strategic Growth Council discussed future energy efficiency projects including a discussion on virtual power plants and the role fairgrounds may have in this emerging industry. In addition to hosting community fairs and special events, fairgrounds serve as essential community resources, especially during natural disasters and emergency situations, offering operational support, resources for first responders and emergency housing and assistance for individuals impacted by these events.
