Or is the public health field inadvertently prioritizing theoretical debates over practical solutions? Are we more interested in publishing research than implementing actionable solutions? I noticed the tag #myhealthmyright and meandered - is it really a right? is it a privilege? is it a duty? It strikes me that #worldhealth is rather complex, when approached at a global level with all the socioeconomic inequities prevalent in our world. On the other hand, health may be simple issue at an individual/personal level. In our hard-charging output-driven lives, we tend to ignore our INPUTS - what we eat, how we move, what we pay attention to, how we care and form bonds with others. Aren's they simply pillars of #mindfulness and connecting with one's own self? No matter the complexity, clarity and context are fundamental to progress. And for health, each of us can (and should) be clear about our personal context, our inputs and how they affect our personal health. #StayHealthy #StayEnergetic #WorldHealthDay2024 #HealthForAll #WellnessJourney

We are delighted to share that our research, “A scoping review of health systems resilience assessment frameworks” has been published in PLOS Global Public Health Journal, a journal dedicated to advancing global health equity by publishing open-access research that addresses critical issues such as health systems resilience, infectious diseases, and public health preparedness, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. The study has been co-authored by ACCESS Health members Sushma Marita Dsouza Dr.Shrikant Kalaskar MEHNAZ KABEER Latika Rewaria Dr. N. Krishna Reddy Maulik Chokshi and former members Anuradha Katyal and Sreemeena Satyanarayana. The HSRA tool, developed by the GLC4HSR Secretariat - ACCESS Health International - is designed to provide a structured framework to assess health systems' resilience across different contexts and regions. It integrates key components like governance, financing, human resources, and service delivery, aiming to help policymakers and healthcare providers identify gaps and optimize responses during crises. 🔍 Unified call for a step-change in how we address health behaviours - published in Elsevier’s Public Health in Practice. Enabling, supporting and promoting positive health-related behaviours is more than necessary—it is essential in tackling the biggest public health challenges of our time. Understanding these behaviours requires an effective and evidence-based approach. Last year’s first ever regional meeting on behavioural and cultural insights (BCI) for health, marked an important step towards advancing the use of BCI in our Region. Meeting participants joined together in developing a statement that calls for public health to embrace a more evidence-based and systematic approach to behaviours. This approach will refine policies, services and communications addressing health behaviours, ensuring better and more equitable health outcomes for everyone.
