💪🏻Encouraging adults to learn cannot be forced; however, using effective approaches and tools to inspire and motivate them to engage goes beyond mere learning and development; it extends to shaping the workplace environment through people and culture. By focusing on #peopleandculture, we can mold the workplace #environment, positively impacting #morale, #engagement, and #productivity. This, in turn, fosters collaboration, innovation, and loyalty, ultimately leading to improved organizational outcomes. Utilizing an e-learning platform facilitates flexible learning, accessible anywhere and anytime. By integrating a blend of classroom learning and e-learning, particularly when morale is high, learning and development become more accessible for all. One cannot force the mind; rather, it must willingly accept what is offered. #Humanresurce #learninganddevelopment #careers #growth #training

The Transformative Power of Personalized Learning in Workplaces 🚀 What Is Personalized Learning? Personalized learning tailors education to individual abilities, needs, and learning styles. It’s a departure from the one-size-fits-all approach, designed to engage employees in their own development actively. Why It Matters: Studies show personalized learning can significantly improve information retention and job performance. The National Research Council confirms its effectiveness, and theorists like Benjamin Bloom argue it helps learners reach their potential. Real-World Benefits: Organizations employing personalized methods report up to 25% faster course completion rates and marked performance improvements. This approach doesn’t just educate—it equips employees for the evolving demands of their roles, enhancing productivity and job satisfaction. Takeaway: As the workplace evolves, personalized learning is not just beneficial but essential. It’s a strategic choice for forward-thinking organizations aiming to thrive in an ever-changing professional landscape. "When the flywheel starts spinning, the momentum is unstoppable" The tension between productivity now (a NEED) and productivity tomorrow (an INVESTMENT) is a perennial one. It’s easy to plan for productivity tomorrow, but in the day-to-day, I reckon it's not that easy to trade productivity today for productivity tomorrow. Hence the resistance to workplace learning, both at the individual and at the team/organisational level. Yet both are important at their respective appropriate levels. Spent last Friday afternoon at the National Workplace Learning Conference 2024, organised by NACE Led by NYP My biggest paradigm shift was in how I perceived Workplace Learning. For some reason, I held the assumption that Workplace Learning is a very specific framework and methodology, and hence largely applied in technical skills and competencies. Instead, Workplace Learning, at least in definition, is not that complicated and technical. In an article from CSC, Workplace Learning can be understood in its 3 words (in my own understanding): 🔧 Work: the Job to be Done by the individual or team 📍Place: the space of work - includes physical space, and also social/cultural space individuals operate in. Learning and job performance takes place in context. 🎒 Learning: the achievement of desired behaviours. Training might not necessarily nor completely translate into learning. Consider the 70/20/10 model, where on-the-job learning and social learning play a huge part in learning and behaviour change From this new paradigm, I am seeing that 1. Workplace Learning takes multiple forms and is potentially accessible to all organisations today e.g. Job Rotation can be meaningfully structured as a workplace learning strategy too. 2. A realistic approach might be to adopt multiple modalities, reinforcement structures and think of learning as an impact journey, not just a training/workshop If you have a case study or a resource that fundamentally shaped your understanding, design and/or implementation of workplace learning, I’d love to jump into in to build greater depth in this area! #WorkplaceLearning #LearningAndDevelopment #PeopleDevelopment

Is Workplace Learning Really Broken? 🤔 In today’s fast-changing world, there’s a growing narrative that “workplace learning is broken.” But is it really? As someone passionate about learning and development, I see this claim as an oversimplification. Yes, there are challenges - such as rapidly evolving skills needs and aligning training with business goals - but labelling learning as “broken” overlooks the incredible progress we’ve made. What’s often missing in this conversation is balance. Effective learning is: ✅ Grounded in real human connection ✅ Tailored to organisational needs ✅ Designed with measurable outcomes in mind Modern approaches and tools can enhance how we deliver learning. But they’re just that - tools. At its core, meaningful development is about empowering people through thoughtful, human-centred strategies. Learning isn’t broken - it’s evolving. 🌱 Rather than chasing quick fixes, let’s focus on what truly matters: creating experiences that help individuals and organisations thrive 🚀 . What are your thoughts? How do you see workplace learning evolving in the years ahead? 💬 #LearningAndDevelopment #WorkplaceLearning #FutureOfWork #HumanCentredLearning #LifelongLearning
