𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀: The relentless efforts of startups over the past few years have been pivotal. To give you an idea, VC funding in AI has multiplied by 4x in the last year. This boom wouldn't be possible without players like Perplexity, Hugging Face, Mistral AI, Anthropic or OpenAI along with many smaller innovators bringing brilliant ideas to the table. 𝟮. 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀: The groundbreaking work by researchers has led to huge innovations across various fields. Keeping up with the flood of new papers is a challenge, but looking back at advancements in fine-tuning, RAG, and prompt engineering over the past 18 months is truly amazing. It's kind of funny when I hear new appointed “AI” consultants discussing Generative AI. They've memorized a list of customer problems and the "magic formula" to solve them, often requiring a hefty investment. But when you put startups, researchers, and consultants together, it creates an interesting picture. And don’t get me wrong, but it’s kind of funny, isn’t it? 😅. Unsurprisingly, given the Bay Area is the epicenter of the #AI revolution, it was packed with founders, investors, technologists, engineers, and creatives all geeking out on everything from hands-on web3 LLM workshops to learning about the future of healthcare.
