The Microwave Society (now the Air Fryer society - quick with quality 😆) Consumers want it in 30 seconds They will pay extra to not have to watch commercials They get frustrated sitting in the McDonalds drive thru for more than two minutes They will pay extra to get the product in 2 days or less on Amazon rather than than waiting 5-7 business days somewhere else Ever since I got into Ecommerce, I never understood how or why some brands take so long to ship an order This why you need a 3PL shipping out same day orders to get that order in the hands of your customer as fast as possible. This is a 3PL's reputation on the line, they are held accountable by these metrics. #3PL #ecommerce #shopify #amazon #fulfillmentcenter #ecommercefulfillment #dtcbrands

#Amazombies are shoppers who return 100s of Amazon packages via big retail drop-spots such as Kohls or Petsmart. Package drop-off partnerships aim to benefit the retailers by increasing foot traffic and sales. Unfortunately, returns are complicated and time consuming so retailers are not seeing positive results. The NRF reports that returns cost U.S. retailers $816B in 2022, with 16.5% of all online purchases being returned. #reverselogistics #retailreturns #packagereturns #parcel https://lnkd.in/eDtpAu-q

Prime Deals are on! With Amazon Prime Day in full swing, many brands are feeling the impact not just from Amazon but from competing retailers dropping prices in order to compete effectively. In fact, 76% of online retailers adjust their pricing strategies to stay competitive during Prime Day. Today, retailers will struggle to keep up with Amazon by offering discounts in the same product categories, particularly in electronics, home goods, tools and apparel, where competition is fierce and prices are incredibly volatile. Brands are forced to navigate this reactionary discounting across multiple platforms, ensuring they can protect agreed upon pricing and brand equity during this critical period. #retail #brandstrategy #ecommerce #pricing #tools #apparel #homegoods #consumerelectronics #MAPpricing

‘Target launches a $49 subscription service for customers wanting quick delivery’ Not sure what to make of this. Target is obviously very late to the paid loyalty program party. And trailing Walmart and Amazon on same-day delivery. Is there demand to pay for Target same-day delivery? [vs free drive up, which continues to grow] Does it improve Shipt unit economics? [cut 3% staffing in October] Doubtful. Since same-day orders aren’t combined with next-day orders. [to improve driver route density] Interested to see how this service performs. #ecommerce #retailing #samedaydelivery

Just like politics, all eCommerce is local. Though it often involves transacting with Amazon rather than local brick-and-mortar shops, fulfillment happens at your doorstep. And fulfilling that last mile to the doormat continues to evolve. Read more on Localogy Insider. https://bit.ly/4c6WmNa #Amazon #PrimeAir #eCommerce #Localogy

Is this new on #Amazon? I came across it for the first time; the interface is very intuitive. In this case, it gives me access to get it in 2 days at my address or to get it today in a local locker. It immediately crossed my mind that this is Amazon's way of making their physical locations available to compete with #Walmart or others with a more dense brick-and-mortar presence, allowing pickup at the store. One advantage of picking up in-store (Walmart, Whole Foods Market) is that most likely the customer will grab some additional items. Yet, lockers are small, and as you can see in my video, in dense areas like #Austin #TX, I have so many choices within walking distance. #logistics #delivery #3pl

‘Walmart GoLocal expands delivery capabilities, client base’ Hmmm … sounds familiar. 🤔 Top retailer with massive package volume ↪️ Identifies a need to lower unit delivery costs ↪️ Decides to build out its own delivery network ↪️ Offers delivery service to other retailers ----- Amazon Walmart Target All massive retailers. All generate and deliver packages. One of many reasons why UPS and FedEx local/short zone volume is under attack. This trend will continue as more retailers are able (and willing) to separate local delivery volume. 2 things will determine the speed of this change. 1. Accurate distributed inventory [beyond the top retailers] 2. Retailers’ ability to show a next day EDD [on PDP, in cart and checkout] #ecommerce #retailing #logistics
