We've all heard of the iconic Naughty or Nice List - a staple fixture in making sure Christmas runs smoothly; but thanks to a combination of global population change, legacy approaches to evidence management, and technology that had not kept pace with digital change, this Christmas staple simply wasn’t keeping up. Massive mistakes were creeping in, leaving well-behaved children marked as Naughty—and raising some serious questions about Christmas equity. This ultimately left our client, Mr. Claus, struggling to meet the demanding deadlines of the holiday season; and for an operation built on magic and trust, this was a Christmas morning wake-up call. Alexander Thring, one of our Senior Consultants, said: "Transforming Christmas can't happen in a silo; you can't skip a year just to make change happen! We're often asked to change the tyre whilst the car is in motion, but we weren't prepared to unwrap) just how hard Santa's elves have to work to keep the magic of Christmas going. We couldn't help but think there was a better way - and we're really proud of what we've enabled Santa's Workshop to deliver." Stay tuned to see how Santa’s Workshop tackled one of the biggest festive challenges ever! #ServiceDesign #DesignThinking #ChristmasSpirit #DigitalTransformation #ChangeManagement

🎅 As we prepare to wind down for the festive season, I couldn’t resist sharing this photo of Belle, my recently rescued Dalmatian from Dundee City Council, who has clearly mastered the fine art of “total festive shutdown.” If only we could all switch off this effortlessly! For many, this time of year is about pausing, reflecting, and finding moments of calm amidst the chaos, and I think Belle’s pose has a lesson for us all, relax, but keep your ears ready for action (or snacks). Christmas can be a challenging time for our customers, especially those facing housing issues or vulnerabilities. It’s our job to ensure that, even during the festive season, they feel supported and cared for. Whether it’s through clear communication, streamlined services, or simply showing empathy, the small things we do now can make a big difference. Belle’s approach reminds me of how important it is to create an environment where people, staff and customers alike, feel they can rest easy, knowing support is there when it’s needed. As we break for Christmas, let’s reflect on how we can keep being the steady sofa that others can lean on, figuratively, of course, no Dalmatians were displaced in the making of this post. Here’s to finding balance, embracing calm, and being there for our communities, this Christmas and beyond. Merry Christmas everyone! 🐾 #CustomerService #HousingSupport #EmpathyMatters #FestiveShutdown #CommunityCare #MakingADifference #CustomerExperience

When it comes to Christmas Eve, service timing can make all the difference. Instead of relying on tradition, consider the needs of your congregation and community. Earlier service times—or even services on December 23rd—are becoming more common as families gather and travel. A well-timed service could open the door for many who might not otherwise attend.
