While offering up debt relief in exchange for not taking time off, Unum employees don't necessarily love the policy. We took a look at the company's anonymous workplace reviews via Glassdoor over time, and it looks like the UNUM workforce may already need.... a vacation. I actually like this idea. I’ve seen stories how millennials aren’t taking vacation days anyway so why not use them towards debt service. Options are always a good thing.

5yThis is a terrible policy. Any company that rewards employees to NOT take vacations is not a company that truly cares for it's employees. They feel more hours means more productivity, and that is uncaring, unprofessional and naive. What if we allowed kids to go to year round school ... forgo their summer, spring and holiday break ... instead, stay in school and work. How soon do you think kids would burn out, loose interest and quit. Adults are just grown up kids. We need time away from work, it makes us better employees. I cannot stress enough, this is a terrible policy.
