This is a very robust radar sensor that can withstand harsh environments where a Stainless steel housing is needed.

Entire planet must be wrapped in a mesh with sensors at every node! What about laser-guided sensors which float and start dangling from drifting clouds! That can definitely help in pinpointing the location as well as the timing of a cloudburst! To see my earlier post about the W.W.W.W!

2024 has been a banner year for SIMB3 deployments! With 21 buoys installed, including 9 just north of Greenland (which is notoriously under sampled), we've over doubled our existing active deployment record. Adding to the success, each of these buoys has our new in-house built embedded temperature string which has seen a nearly 100% success rate over 24+ deployments. It's been a long year but I'm so proud to see each of these out doing their job -- collecting data so we can better understand this incredibly complex and important environment!
