Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has forged a partnership with Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Group to install three air-to-water dispensers at rest areas designated for delivery riders. This initiative, part of Phase I of a larger project, was formalised through an agreement signed by Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, CEO of the Licensing Agency, representing RTA, and Ali Al-Abdullah, Managing Director of Government Affairs & Corporate Real Estate at Majid Al Futtaim, representing MAF. The dispensers, provided by Majid Al Futtaim, employ cutting-edge technology to extract potable water from atmospheric humidity. Under conditions of 30 degrees Celsius and 65% humidity, these dispensers can produce approximately 100 litres of drinking water daily. Abdullah Yousef Al Ali commented, "This partnership underscores RTA's commitment to collaborating with the private sector to ensure the safety of delivery bike drivers, enhancing a safe and convenient transport system for all residents and visitors in Dubai. It also reflects Majid Al Futtaim Group's dedication to social responsibility. This sustainable solution not only provides safe drinking water to delivery bike drivers but also contributes to reducing the environmental footprint." RTA's initiative to develop 40 air-conditioned rest areas for delivery riders aims to regulate and improve the safety of the rapidly expanding delivery sector and enhance the well-being of these drivers.
